This versatile pack from Steroplast can be used either hot or cold to relieve a variety of aches, pains, sprains, and other injuries. The non-toxic gel filling remains soft when frozen, enabling the pack to contour to the body and can also be heated up using a microwave or pan of boiling water. Size: 13 x 25 Centimetres Hot Application – Microwave: Place gel pack into microwave for approximately 30 seconds on high temperature. After this time, check that the correct temperature has been reached. If not, further exposure should be in 15 second intervals. CAUTION: DO NOT OVERHEAT. Times are based on a 600W microwave. Adjust heating times to suit the power of your microwave. Hot Application – Hot Water: Bring water to the boil, remove from heat and immerse the gel pack for approximately 4 – 10 minutes. After 4 minutes, check every 1 minute to see if the correct temperature has been reached. Cold Application: Store in the freezer so that the pack is ready to use in case of injury. Approximately 1 hour is required to freeze gel. Great products
I purchased these as my dog has a cruciate ligament detachment. I use thes about 4 to 5 times a day from freezer to leg while awaiting his operation to cool the area down and give him some pain relief.They are great as they do not freeze as a solid lump you are able to bend the with out any problems.I have not tried to heat them in the microwave yet so I can not comment on how they respond.

(EDIT) Lasted 2 weeks for me
(EDIT: 5 > 3 Stars) My pack broke after just 2 weeks. and this was from an average of 1 or less use a day.(Heat) I’d reckon I’ve used it about 10 times. Noticed a small hole, not by the seems but right in the middle of the pack. Changing from 5 to 3 stars, benefit of the doubt that I was just an unlucky customer who got a defective product._____________________________________________________________________________Good value for money (only used it for heat), though I don’t have premium recommendation/substitutes for this type of product. I bought a sleeve to go along with the heat pad and it has done wonders. Stays at the ideal temperature for around 10 minutes.I leave it in the microwave for around 70 seconds, though that might be different for your microwave. I would not follow the package’s recommendation of leaving it in boiling water because the blue colouring of the pack started to come off when I did that.
