I can’t go back, this is a game changer!
—I recently added the SwitchBot Curtain 3 to my setup, and itâs been a game-changer. Out of the box, it paired effortlessly with my SwitchBot appâjust clip it onto the curtain rod, follow the simple on-screen prompts, and youâre done. The battery life is outstanding: I only needed to recharge it once since January 4thâa span of about four monthsâeven though it cycles far more than once per day with every lock and unlock. What I love most is its versatility. It works with almost any curtain typeâlight sheers, heavier drapes, and everything in between. I installed mine on a door curtain to combat a constant draft: whenever my SwitchBot Lock Pro locks the door, the curtain closes automatically, and it opens again when I unlock. This automation has made a noticeable difference in keeping warm air inside on chilly mornings.Despite a few run-ins (literally) when Iâve flung the door open before the curtain had a chance to move, the device still works flawlessly. Itâs picked up a few scuffs, but the build quality is tough and reliable. At its price point, the Curtain 3 is very reasonableâespecially considering how much it improves home comfort and convenience. I only needed one unit on my door-side curtain rail, but it tackled my draft problem perfectly, even when Iâm away from home. Highly recommended for anyone looking to automate and insulate without breaking the bank.

Brilliant piece of kit.
Got these to replace the curtain 2. The batteries stopped charging after 3 years. You’ll need a SwitchBot Hub 2 to link to your home ecosystem. I reset mine to factory settings to ensue there were no errors carried over from the old ones. Added it to the Apple Home app. This took a few minutes. The curtain 3 bots were set un in about a minute. The app walks you through the steps, and you can watch a video on the SwitchBot site.Calibrating them took 15 seconds or so. Once that was done, you add them to the hub, which adds them to you ecosystem.Once set up, it was time to test. I asked Siri to close the curtains, then open them. Voice control works great. They were pretty quick to respond. They’re compatible with both rod and track, so you need to make sure you order the right ones. They a bit big, but you don’t notice them because they’re hidden behind the curtains.Once I was happy with them, I created some automations that close the curtains at sunset, open them at a certain time if I’m out. Everything works as it should.

Almost Perfect
The device came well packaged with good instructions. Battery life is excellent and the motors are strong enough to move even heavy curtains. Only issue Iâve had is the curtains getting stuck on the extendable poles even when using the supplied joiner. The joiner has also lost its stickiness which means it sits proud and catches the curtains as they try to move along. Iâve had to wrap the prongs with tape to get them to stay down but this requires replacement every few months due to wear and tear. Hopefully SwitchBot can redesign this.

Solid Smart Curtain Solution, Great with HomeKit
I’ve been using the SwitchBot Curtain 3 for a while now, paired with a SwitchBot Hub 2, and overall, I’m quite happy with them. The fact that the Hub 2 now supports Matter was the key for me, as it meant I could finally get my curtains integrated into Apple HomeKit.Setup was pretty straightforward for both the device and the hub, and getting it into HomeKit was easy. I primarily use HomeKit automations to open and close them based on sunrise and sunset, and for the most part, it works very well. The device itself is solid in terms of operation. They’re genuinely quiet, which is a big plus, especially in a bedroom setting. The battery life is also great, I rarely have to charge them, and being able to use USB C when I do makes life easy.My only minor gripe is that occasionally, one of the a pair won’t open with an automation. It’s infrequent, but it happens. I suspect this is more of a HomeKit automation glitch rather than an issue with the SwitchBot hardware itself, as controlling them with the SwitchBot app always works fine.Despite that small hiccup, I’d still recommend the SwitchBot Curtain 3, especially if you’re looking for a smart curtain solution that plays nicely with Apple HomeKit.

Fantastic must have for everyone!
Iâve been using these curtain motors in my bedroom for over a year now and theyâve worked flawlessly. The battery life is impressive, lasting easily over four to five months, and Iâve set up automations to open the curtains at sunrise, which works perfectly.I definitely plan to get more to automate the rest of the house. Installation and setup only took a few minutes and then you can just forget about them as they do their job quietly and reliably. The only minor issue Iâve encountered is that I need to oil or use WD40 on the curtain pole about twice a year to keep everything running smoothly, but thatâs hardly a dealbreaker. We love showing them off to guests and itâs especially great when weâre on holiday as it gives the impression someone is home. Highly recommended

Not strong enough and very inconsistent!
Iâve had this now for about 4 months and can honestly say itâs infuriating. A constant need to re-calibrate, the inability to consistently close a curtain fully. Iâve had to give up on them, expensive waste of money!Theyâre pulling a curtain from one side, certainly not a heavy curtain, itâs a metal pole with metal rings which may be introducing friction, but the motor in the opener just doesnât sound strong enough. Iâve tried all sorts of different methods with the spacing of the cord and Iâll get it working for a few days perfectly, then it just stops closing fully, maybe 70/80%. Then the whole ordeal starts again.Honestly I just canât recommend these until motors are stronger. Your mileage may vary with different curtain types etc⦠but for me itâs a no.

Requiere un hub que se vende por separado para integrarlo a Alexa, sino sólo se puede usar mediante su app. Es demasiado grande/grueso por lo que debe haber bastante espacio entre la pared y el riel de la cortina para que no se atore.

I got my curtains automated in no time using this device

A lot of step by step setup but it was easy to understand. Needed to adjust things to fit them in my home. Initially a bit worried that the white color device on my black curtain rod would be too noticeable but it seems okay on it.A bit of spending to just open curtains automatically but love it as set times to open and close by itself. Also motorized rods are even more expensive and they are not portable.Still think it would be better to install powered motorized one if do renovation next time for long term as no worry for batteries or solar panels, and clean look.
