Very good smart bulbs…But a bit laggy
A real positive I find with Tapo products is how easy they are to setup. I have a few different brands of smart bulbs, but Tapo are hands down the easiest to set up and use.Disregarding the “Smart” aspect for a minute. The actual bulbs are extremely flexible, a wide range of colours and dimming capabilities. I’ve only started using the Tapo Wi-Fi GU10 LED Bulbs so I can’t comment on longevity yet, but my other Tapo bulbs are lasting well as you would expect.Now onto the smart aspects of the bulb…As I mentioned, setup using the Tapo app is very easy and stress free. I’ve linked them to Alexa and again this process was very easy with no issues.The only problem I have is very often (more 50% I’d guess) when I tell Alexa to turn on these bulbs, there is a significant lag until the bulb turns on. The lag can be anything from a few seconds to ~1 minute. 1st world problems but 1 minute in the dark waiting to see if the bulb will turn on is not that convenient. I have 3 Ultrabrite bulbs (a fraction of the cost of the Tapo ones) in the sitting room and I don’t see any delay with those.It’s hard to pin this just on the Tapo Bulb because the router that I have could be contributing to the lag (although other bulbs seem to work fine).Anyway, overall these are good bulbs but I have to admit the “Lagyness” is annoying me.

Fantasic GU10 Smart Bulbs at a good price
Great GU10 bulbs from Tapo. Very easy to set up with the Tapo App which I already had set up because of other Tapo products owned (Cameras and Switches). It took about 2 minutes a bulb to set up and update. Lovely warm white light rather than a cold white light.I have them fitted to a track with 4 bulbs and I have been able to link them up with Alexa so I can either switch on as a group for all 4 to come on at the same time or control each bulb individually.I purchased the 4 pack to check them out and now I have placed an order for the 8 pack which I had to do through Tapo website rather than Amazon because I couldn’t see the 8 pack on Amazon. Soon all of my kitchen lights will be smart!I think these are so much easier to set up than Philips Hue system which I also have and they are so much cheaper than Hue so what’s not to like!

BEWARE that they can self reset if they lose power !!
These bulbs cannot be used like normal bulbs and switched ON/OFF regularly. Any power cuts or fluctuations in their power source forces them to self reset and go offline. You no longer can connect to them and they then have to be set up and added from scratch on the Tapo App. This is because according to TP Link, they will hard reset and lose their Wifi connection settings if they lose power three times in a row.This is a terrible design flaw and many are not happy about it as these cannot be treated like normal bulbs in your house. Very very disappointing
