M1 Mac now runs 2 external monitors ð
I bought this to allow me to run an M1 Mac book pro with 2 external monitors. 1HD and 1 4K.So far, it does what it says on the tim and Iâm a happy boy.You do have to download some software so itâs not exactly plug and play but itâs not too complicated.

M1 MacBooks require DisplayPort software to use this dock, PCâs work straight off.Also doesnât like HDMI / Display Port adaptors so only use HDMI-HDMI or DP-DP leads to connect to extra monitors.Also 60w output to Dell PC produces a low power warning.

A Separate Charger may be needed
This universal docking station works well in every respect execpt for two issues. The first is that the charger with the Targus unit is not powerful enough to charge my laptop and therefore, I need to use my laptop charger unit and the charger unit for the docking station. The second issues is that the USB c cable included connects the data between the laptop and the docking station, and the power if a separate charger to the laptop is not used. When using the USB c cable, when backing up to a NAS drive, the docking station crashes as the USB c cable cannot handle the data transfer and power the laptop at the same tim. So, if you use this unit with a laptop, you will likely need to purchase a separate charger unit for the laptop and a USB c to USB B cable to enable the docking station to work properly

Wird am MacBook Air M1 betrieben, ohne Probleme.Habe zwei WHQD Monitor mit 144hz dadran, auch das klappt sehr gut.Wechsel regelmäÃig zwischen privaten MacBook Air M1 und beruflichen Intel basierten MacBook Pro. erfüllt dafür seinen zwei perfekt.

La docking presenta bene ed è indubbiamente un buon prodotto che riesce ad aggirare le limitazioni di macos. Con il mio mac air m3 è stata una manna, perchè mi ha permesso di usare un doppio monitor esterno (oltre quello del mac) in 4k tramite driver displaylink. Entrambi i monitor lavorano molto bene a 60hz senza puntamenti e con un’ottima reattività (uso principalmente lightroom e photoshop). I colori sono fedeli a quelli dei profili caricati e mi ha permesso di occupare una solo porta thunderbolt delle due disponibili, duplicando oltre ai monitor le porte usb, permettendomi di usare l’altra porta del mac per la lettura di dischi esterni che necessitavano di velocità maggiori rispetto ai 5gbps disponibili sulla docking. Molto buona la disponibilità di 4 porte Usb A 3.0, una usb-c (3.0 o 3.1, non so) oltre una seconda power delivery, doppio hdmi 4k 60hz, doppio display port, giga eth, audio…insomma copleta! Non c’è che dire!Due piccoli tip, attraverso la usbc e l’usb a laterale (non ho in realtà provato le posteriori) è possibile alimentare e far leggere ulteriori periferiche con ad esempio un duplicatore di porte usb, un’altra docking di piccole dimensioni o un lettore sd card. Secondo tip, usando i driver displaylink non è possibile guardare lo streaming sulle piattaforme tramite browser, ma basta disattivare l’accelerazione grafica sulle impostazioni del browser per aggirare il limite (cercate su internet).Ma se è così figa, perchè 4 stelle? La stavo per rimandare indietro perchè con i due monitor 4k collegati, riscontravo puntamenti e blocchi e non riuscivo a lavorare, ero abbastanza sconfortato. Poi ho sostituito il cavo thunderlbolt in dotazione (credo versione 3) con un cavo thunderbolt 4 che avevo a casa (240w) e magicamente tutto a preso a funzionare alla perfezione. Ok che il trasporto teorico dei dati non può sfruttare i 40gbps del cavo, ma l’evidenza empirica dimostra altro. Metteteci dentro un cavo usb 4!Comunque la consiglio assolutamente se avete un macbook e state cercando una docking che vi permetta di usarlo come fisso, peraltro nel momento in cui scrivo è scesa di altri 14 euro rispetto a quando l’ho presa io

Wie der Titel bereits zu verstehen gibt, bin ich nicht sonderlich begeistert von der Dockingstation, auch wenn ich sie denoch behalten werde.Die Menge der Anschlüsse ist super und ich habe mich wirklich darauf gefreut. Vor allem auch, wen angegeben wird, dass 2x 4K Displays kein Problem sind.Diese Aussage kann ich leider nicht zustimmen. Ich habe 2 HP EliteDisplay E231 angeschlossen – also nur FullHD und auch hier stöÃt die Dockingstation manchmal an ihre Grenzen. Bei Büroarbeit, also Office etc. geht das ja noch, aber sobald ein Video oder eine Videokonferenz dazu kommt, fängt es an zu verzögern und die Bandbreite des USB-C Anschlusses packt es kaum noch.Warum das so ist? Targus gibt leider nur relativ versteckt an, dass es sich bei USB-C um USB 3.1 handelt. USB 3.1 wiederum bietet garnicht die Bandbreite an um 2x FullHD oder gar 4K übertragen zu können. Wenn dann auch noch Signale von den anderen Ports für Maus etc. dazu kommen ist “Schicht im Schacht”.Gott sei Dank habe ich nicht all zu Oft Videokonferenzen oder Schaue Videos im Dienst (Schulungen etc.), sonst ginge die Dockingstation 1:1 retour.Bevor die Frage kommt: Nein es liegt nicht an der Bandbreite. Ich habe eine 100 Mbit/s symmetrische Glasfaser-Leitung (also 100 Mbit/s Download und 100 Mbit/s Upload) und auch in-House ist alles per CAT7 verkabelt.

pas mal avec n’importe quel PC/Mac cependant, il faut installer les drivers DisplayLink et ce n’est donc du full Plug&Play..edit : je l’ai renvoyée car avec mon macbook la station buggait pas mal (scintillement de l’écran, ports usb qui s’éteignent, etc.) de plus, le displaylink ne permet pas de regarder du contenu HDCP (netflix ou autres depuis un navigateur en écran noir..)

Fonctionne très sur un PC récent et dans un cadre pro pour du développement (2 écrans branchés en HDMI, prise réseau, alimentation du pc et branchements de périphériques sur les ports usb).Aucune latence au niveau de l’affichage et du réseau. Il faut bien penser à installer le driver.Une étoile retirée car petit défaut au niveau du son: la prise jack n’est pas détectée si elle est déjà branchée au démarrage, donc obligé de la débrancher/rebrancher tous les matins.
