Fantastic value, fantastic mouse, as good as the best I have ever used.
I bought this mouse as an alternative to the more expensive Evoluent mouse, which, by the way, is excellent. Both are vertical mice, which means that your hand is actually in a natural position when using it. This means that there is no stress or tension on the muscles in your forearm, which means less stress overall, and it minimises the risk of nerve injury or repetitive strain injury. In my case, using a vertical mouse also helped me to completely recover from a nerve injury which stopped me driving and also resulted in me having to take time off work. This is part of the solution – keeping your keyboard as flat as possible and making sure that your wrists are not angled upwards (if necessary by rising the height of your chair and using a footstool for your feet, so that your keyboard is lower will also help). Try getting rid of any wrist rests, as they tend to make your wrist angle upwards, putting stress and strain on those muscles and tendons. It worked for me – I have been pain free for over three years now. I have been a huge fan of the Evoluent mouse for this reason, and when it broke and I needed a replacement I saw this and decided to give it a try as it is a fraction of the price of a new Evoluent. I am so glad that I did. Note, that this mouse is for RIGHT-HANDED use. I don’t know if there is a left handed version, but they are not interchangeable. The mouse has a USB dongle, which is stored underneath the mouse when not in use. When I first put the dongle into the computer it didn’t work, but a re-start of Windows sorted that problem out immediately. The mouse actually feels more comfortable than the Evoluent, if that is possible, as that is one of the best mice I have ever used. This TeckNet mouse has a soft, rubberised, smooth feel and fits my hands perfectly. The sensitivity was spot-on straight out of the box, and the cursor is smooth and responsive. For full disclosure, I work in the field of disability and often recommend equipment to people using computers. I will be purchasing these as the first choice mouse to try in future, a) because of the tremendous value, b) because it is as good as the Evoluent and c) because your hand is supported in a natural position which will minimise injury. Absolutely recommend this product. You will need 2 x AA batteries for the mouse as these are not supplied.I generally review any products I buy on Amazon, because I only ever purchase products myself after reading the reviews of others. Works fine under Windows and also Linux
This mouse works perfectly with Windows and Linux Mint operating systems. Plug in the USB device and it worked instantly with no need to download drivers. I wasn’t too sure about the hand position at first, it felt a bit awkward, but having used it for a few hours I’m getting to like it. I think other reviews have commented on the light on the side not working; well the instructions say that this only comes on briefly to confirm the DPI setting, and it certainly does that. The DPI button has been moved to the top of the device , so slightly different to the instruction book, but easy enough to figure out. The switches and wheel feel decent enough, certainly considering the price, and as yet I haven’t had any ‘drop outs’ , with the pointer movement being smooth and accurate. Very happy with my purchase so far.

For the money, not sure you can beat it
I bought this on a punt based on the reviews saying it was surprisingly good for the money. It is that! This gets you a really great-feeling ergo mouse. You’ll probably want to install xmouse to configure it – I didn’t see any custom software driver for it. Haven’t really stressed it on games yet, the most I noticed was that the laser res probably needs to be higher so you don’t have to move it as much – though technically ergo mice encourage arm movement in order to be ergonomic! The thumb click buttons are not suited as alternatives for left-clicking (something I look for due to a twitchy index finger). It shuts off itself an awful lot, you have to right-click to wake it quite frequently, which I think would be how the battery life stays good on it (it has a nice-sized on/off button too, though you feel you don’t need it). I’ve found reception to be average – most micro usb receivers can’t seem to make it past the interference from a screen, so you will want your receiver on the right side of your laptop. It is a very light mouse, so won’t strain your wrists too much flinging it about, but that could equally be a sign that it won’t last that long either being thrashed. Whilst this might not be as solid or luxurious as other mice, it gets the job done of being a budget ergo mouse enough to compete with mid-range ergos.Addendum 1.5 years later: It’s still going in mostly good working order. I’m amazed actually by how clean it’s managed to stay, just a little dust on the ends of the buttons. Battery life has remained consistently good, you just have to right-click (a null action) all the time to wake it. What hasn’t stood up as well to the rigours of time is the mouse wheel, as with a lot of mice it must be said, it suffers from slip so doesn’t always detect the movement particularly if it’s fine movement (I’ve tended to push slightly from the top and I’ve noticed if you push slightly from the bottom it is still working). I have had problems with using it with gaming. I play sims a lot, and the amount of detailed movement will strain your wrists. So I am knocking it off a point for that. For anyone looking for alternatives that solve some of these issues – do consider the Evoluent VerticalMouse D, though it’s a lot heavier, and there’s always the 3M ergo mouse which remains unbeaten, in my view, at ergonomics.

When I first saw this mouse, I was surprised at the price of such a stylish vertical mouse. When I first received the product, it was very well boxed and neatly organised. The instructions were clear and easy to understand. The product does not feel or look cheap. I was very impressed with the material of the mouse, being a smooth and grippy material. The mouse fits nearly every hand, even my hands (Iâm 7ft)!My favourite feature has to be the usb connection, it allows for users to use the mouse from almost anywhere in the room they are in. As well, it performs great on all surfaces, (mouse pad, glass, bed, wall, wood, desk, etc.). The buttons are very easy to click, and are not loud in any way! I appreciate the DPI changing feature, allowing for the best use of the mouse for all users. The page next and back buttons are a great feature, especially if you work with limited space! It saves having to move the mouse to the top of the screen. Also, if you are worried that the mouse will be hard to pick up when using it and move to the middle of your mouse pad, believe me, it is easy, thanks to the thumb grips! The only downside is the scroll wheel is particular in that, it works best when you scroll it at a 45 degree angle. If you try and scroll it vertically, it feels odd, and with pressure does not perform the best. But donât worry, if you use it properly, it is great! All in all, this thing does a spectacular job and has impressed me! If youâre debating between a more expensive but nicer looking mouse and this one, then you should go with this mouse here! Not only does it look great, it performs great and will help your sore wrist or hand.
