If you are like me you first think that this a ledger for storing your crypto currencies but it is nothing like that at all. This is just an authentication device that you would use to give you an extra layer of security when using two factor authentication. or even multi-factor authentication depending on how many layers of security you really want. For my needs and for the information I hold, two-factor authentication is more than enough.The reason why this Pro-C FIDO2 Security Key Passkey Device is so good for two-factor authentication is because firstly it’s a physical hardware device that without it nobody can access your accounts AND secondly because it uses advanced authentication standards like FIDO2 and TOTP/HOTP, making it an excellent choice for securing your digital identity. To be honest I don’t really understand how these authentication standards work, and you really don’t need to know the workings of them either. You just need to appreciate that this has great features that provide really strong protection. It makes sure that only authorized users can access their accounts, protecting against phishing attacks, account takeovers, and other security threats. It integrates the various authentication methods across various platforms in order to keep your accounts secure across them all.All you really need to understand is that once you have this device installed, it acts like a physical hardware key, giving you an extra layer of security for your digital accounts, ensuring that only you can access your accounts as you are the only one who will have this hardware key that you associate with you accounts when you install it.This key is supposed to make things easier than other hardware keys as it also offers finger print authentication, but that part is not great as it is really hit and miss when letting you in as I don’t think it has been implemented properly – well either that or it has a fault with it, and is also the reason why I have given this 4 stars.

Great physical security device for 2FA authentication.I have only used this for some less important accounts (Google and Facebook). But honestly, I feel like Tom Cruise in Minority Report every time I use this.It works extremely well, and needing to have a physical device to access your account is a game-changer. Ottima se usata con Windows, iOS e Android. Non l’ho provata su Mac. Ho provato su Linux ma senza esito positivo, troppo complicato installare i componenti PAM. E’ anche vero che si può utilizzare Chrome per configurarla, ma non è come usare il software per Windows che rende chiaro visualizzare tutti gli account collegati.Non uso praticamente più password. La uso con Apple, Google, Github, Amazon, Microsoft, app bancarie, Facebook, Instagram.Per Linux è consigliabile purtroppo Yubi, ma costa anche tre volte di più.L’unico neo, se lo avessi saputo prima di acquistarne due (una sempre di backup, anzi ricordarsi di aggiungere entrambe le chiavi quando si registrano su un account), avrei preso la versione con impronta digitale così da non inserire il PIN per il riconoscimento.Ottimo anche l’uso con NFC. Sugli smartphone è comodissimo e anche istantaneo.Ottimi anche i materiali e la costruzione generale.

I’ve been using the Thetis Pro-C FIDO2 key for a while now, primarily for basic two-factor authentication, and I’m quite satisfied with its performance. While I haven’t explored all of its advanced features like TOTP/HOTP, everything I need it for works flawlessly.I use the Thetis Pro-C alongside a Yubico key, and I honestly can’t tell the difference in speed or basic functionality. Both keys perform equally well in securing my accounts. This makes the Thetis Pro-C an excellent value proposition, offering comparable performance to more expensive brands at a more affordable price point.Pros:- Reliable FIDO2 performance- Comparable speed and functionality to Yubico keys- Excellent value for moneyCons:- None at the moment* I haven’t tested all advanced features!Overall:If you’re looking for a reliable and affordable FIDO2 security key for basic two-factor authentication, the Thetis Pro-C is a great option. It offers solid performance and is a great alternative to more expensive brands.*** Top tip for those who say NFC doesn’t work: ***The protective bracket that the key rotates in is made of metal (aluminum), which blocks the NFC chip. You must therefore unfold the key before you can scan it.This is a bit annoying at times, but on the other hand, it offers an extra layer of security.
