Well balanced
I am really impressed with this budget price microphone. Having just ventured in to making video content I found I needed a stand alone microphone and as this is a fledgling hobby I didn’t want to spend big bucks so this purchase was made purely on price – that and I did recognise the brand name which was a bonus.
Easy to assemble out of the box and I am impressed that the USB cable actually has a woven casing which makes it feel like a higher end item. The tripod is nice and stable, the only issue I have found is the pop shield (for want of a better description) is easy to knock out of place and you definitely need it in place as the microphone itself is fairly sensitive.
I am pleasingly surprised at how well it picks up sound. I have is set up for my video recording which so happens to be in the Living Room so half the time my other half is there when I am recording. If he talks at normal volume it does pick his voice up lovely and clearly despite being a good 3 or 4 metres away from the mic – no weird distortion or loss of quality which surprised me. I fully expected it to be fine for close up use so the fact it gives clear, fresh sound from a moderate distance was a nice bonus (always fun to have the peanut gallery in your recordings).
To be honest I am loving my new hobby and am looking at upgrading some of my equipment already. However, I am certainly NOT going to be changing this mic. Compact and is more than up to the job I have for it so why spend more when this little beauty does the job excellently?

Great budget microphone
Bought for myself a while ago, really good for the price and sound quality is great.

Cheap microphone, decent performance for the price but is sensitive to background noise
This microphone came in handy in a pinch when my headset microphone stopped working after years of use. It’s got decent audio quality for the price and was a significant upgrade over my old 3.5mm mic for voice clarity. It is a condensor microphone though which makes it very sensitive to background noise. I have to set the volume threshold in Discord and other software pretty high so it’s not picking up keyboard or mouse clicks. You can definitely get a lot out of this microphone if you spend some time tweaking audio and noise reduction settings though.

If you are confident enough to point it at you and have desk space for it – it is really good
Sooo – do you dare point something that looks like a futuristic desk from a sci-fi show weapon at your face? Get over your anxiety and find it is a really great microphone for teleconferences.
It is quite large compared to traditional microphones – but worth it. The tripod is a little small, but adequate and the rubber bands suspend the microphone to damp any vibrations from – say – the desk it is on when you drop things on it or knock the legs.

Serviceable mic for general use
I initially bought this microphone primarily for chatting with friends on discord with the occasional use in online lessons and whatnot. The sound works well enough, but it is really not recommended to set it up like its shown in the pictures. That is probably the best way to get the worst sound out of this.
To properly set it up you want the microphone completely vertical (the cable points downwards towards the table and the metal grill faces you) this is because the actual part that takes in the sound is on those sides, this is the best way to get a loud and clear quality from this microphone.
This is when you notice something, the included pop filter is completely useless! there is no way to convienently attach the pop filter so that it goes infront of the metal grills. completely baffling design choice there.
Once everything is all set up properly however, it works fine. You wont sound fantastic like you’re in the room with them but it will do the job. To sound the clearest you will need to be about 12 inches / 30 cm / 1ft away from the microphone but I find that placing it about twice this distance still allows you to sound clear enough for most use cases (although you may need to fiddle with the microphone settings in your programs to be more sensitive to account for this).
For general use cases such as chatting, online meetings, and perhaps even podcasting in a pinch, this microphone will suit you just fine. But for cases where quality really is imperative such as music recording (vocals and/or instruments) you might want to look elsewhere and perhaps spend a little more.
TL;DR this mic will do fine for general use such as chatting but not adviced for specific cases such as singing and music.

Crystal clear voice. I love this mic
I love it. This mic has a very good gain and my voice sounds deep and is crystal clear, even when I whisper.
It’s incredibly easy to setup, and there is no need for drivers in Windows 10.
It’s probably the best deal you can get on Amazon for the ~£35 price range.
The mic is mostly made of plastic, but this doesn’t bother me, considering it’s doing its job so well. I would say it is even better than the Blue Snowball Ice, as the voice is deeper and clearer using the Mantis, while with the Snowball it tends to sound weaker and a bit more washed out. There are test videos on YouTube for both mics to prove my point.
The only 2 cons I could find were:
– The relatively short USB cable. This mic is only new, so I’m hoping the cable will be longer with the revised model in the near future
– There is no physical button on the mic for muting and unmuting. If you’re using Discord, there is a workaround where you can assign a keyboard shortcut for muting the mic. I’ve assigned mine to CTRL+M.
This is, without a doubt, the best mic I’ve ever had and it’s great for gaming and streaming. Definitely a good buy and a bargain, at only £30 (current price 26-Feb-2019).

eeeh so i have a few problem with this microphone
First of: it is way to sensitive in my opinion
second: the quality dropped a little bit after a while. but it came back a little
third: the pop filter is kind of useless but at the same time not
my positives
first it looks professional
second the sound is good ofr the price
