Customers say
Customers find the speaker system delivers good sound quality, with one noting its powerful sub/bass performance, and consider it a great value for a 5.1 surround sound system. The setup is straightforward, with good instructions included, and customers appreciate its functionality and build quality. The remote control receives mixed feedback – while some find it nice, others consider it among the worst they’ve used. Additionally, the cable length receives criticism, with customers noting the cables are too short.

It’s noise. It’s noise and it thumps!
My word, this was an adventure…The box arrived and I was all “Whoah!” It’s not massive, but it’s not small either., but it’s enough to make you go “Whoah!”…The best way I can describe its size would be, if you took two boxes of half its size and put them together, you’d have the size of the box that turned up.Anyway, laying it down neatly and slicing the top open is always amazing when the box is of a reasonable size (see above), pulling the box wings aside and gently removing stuff was possibly one of the most therapeutic things I’ve ever done.Issues abound, of course, when connecting to the PC itself (3.5mm jacks)…You’re going to have a different experience depending on what hardware drivers you’ve got running; and likely extra issues regardless (because despite Windows’ trying to help, they continually make things worse and never clean up after themselves). When I first tried to plug everything in it went well until I connected the surround speakers, they were picked up as Rear, which is only available on 7.1 systems…Getting Windows to work properly with 5.1 was several hours of annoyance, but believe me when I say that it’s completely worth it!I had a day where I just tested the sound via music player and it’s LOUD, CLEAR, and WORTH EVERY PENNY.

Good sound, good reproduction and lots of volume.
These finally arrived after purchasing them through a lightning sale. I confess that I was extremely surprised at the size of the box when it arrived. This is a large set of speakers and the primary speaker in the centre is about as big as you might imagine from the product photograph. What attracted to me to this set was the claim on of 180 watts. I like to listen to music, various types of music, and computer speakers in general just don’t cut it. I’ve had a set of trust speakers before and while they were excellent for gaming and movies, they lacked something when playing music. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it just didn’t sound right. Not full enough perhaps. Plus of course, when I’m in the mood I like to listen to loud music, and this is where computer speakers fail the most, they buzz, vibrate, hum and generally distort at high volumes. So, I admit to a certain amount of skepticism when purchasing these.I cannot verify if these are 180 watts, as I have no real way to measure it, but these go to quite a volume range and manage to maintain integrity quite well. Less vibration or hum and rumble than any computer speakers I’ve tried before. Not perfect, but then these aren’t high end music speakers, so I can forgive them for that. Really great running the x-box through these, the sound is almost perfect, and a good surround system for horror survival games on a dark night. Running my usual music choices through this was pleasurable, they reproduce well and maintain sound without electronic intrusion. So far so good.If you are looking to buy these, it is worth noting that they are excellent gaming speakers, I’m very impressed with them for that. If you are a music aficionado, you may want to invest in some real speakers for your hifi, this is not going to hit that level of reproduction. For general use, entertainment, loud noise, these are absolutely perfect, and they can make a LOT of noise.Overall I’m pleased with them, they are definitely the best computer speakers I’ve had and they do everything I want from a decent set of computer speakers. They even reproduce well watching movies – horror and sci-fi night will be fun again…In summary. Bigger than I expected, better than I expected and loud. I may already have mentioned that, but it’s worth noting. They are loud. If you live in a flat, or terrace, keep the volume down or you might really annoy your neighbours.

Good but not quite perfect
I bought these speakers as a replacement for my Creative T6100 5.1 speakers that I had owned for over 14 years but which had alas developed a fault. The positives are the sound is every bit as good possibly a little better. The speakers design is nice but they are made of plastic and look it. The bass of the Sub-Woofer is good enough for my needs (too much base and I get a shout from my wife in the kitchen below!).The remote is very unimpressive but functions perfectly well. I do have my doubts as to how long it will endure as it seems rather insubstantial.I like the stereo input in addition to the 5.1 inputs and that the remote allows me to switch between the two with ease. There are a few little things I wish were different. Because I keep my Sub-Woofer under my desk I canât easily use any of the buttons and have to rely on the remote. However, there are no lights telling me what settings I have selected and sometimes it takes a bit of investigation to work out if I am actually listening in 5.1 or not. I know this sounds ridiculous but depending on the source it isnât always that obvious.Another slight annoyance, but probably a regulation these days, is that I canât find a way to stop the speakers going into sleep mode after a period of time. Like some people have commented, this means you might miss a system notification sound. This is not that serious as I get visual clues on my PC screen as well but it is still irritating that when I think I am having problems with a website not playing sound itâs simply because the speakers have turned themselves off!Consequently, even though I personally donât like flashing lights when I listen to music, I keep the Sub-Woofer light on simply so I know for certain the speakers are still on. As it is under my desk I donât see any flashing light but a quick glance under the desk confirms the speakers havenât switched themselves off again! Finally, my T6100s had a headphone socket in one of the front speakers which was very useful and also a main volume control for adjusting (or turning off the speakers completely) the overall sound level which was handy if I wanted to quickly turn down the speakers. There is a mute button on the new remote but it just doesnât seem as convenient. So despite one or two minor irritations I am more than happy that these speakers are a good replacement for my trustworthy T6100s.
