Easy mood lighting for living room cabinets
My task was to replace old incandescent tube mood lighting behind living room cabinets that were installed 20 odd years’ ago. At the time these were the best solution.Today, however, with the advent of LEDs there’s a simpler solution. Namely COB ( chip-on-board) LED Strip lights. Apparently it’s a more recent development that gives us a greater density of LEDs and thus a more uniform light.The small box ( pictured) comes with the 3metres of LED strip, a UK 3pin plug/DC24v adaptor ( in one piece), a small RF remote, a controller and a manual ( in the pic you can see it’s headed: Usear Manuel ð – perhaps they wrote it!) .There’s a good metre of cable ( I think the site says 1.24cm ) to attach the plug lead to the small LED controller ( about 16cm long). The LED strip connects into the controller and the plug lead into that. In my case there was ample distance from the LED strip ( now stuck in place to the wall) and the wall socket. You may have to buy a suitable extension lead should your electric socket be further away.It’s a simple job to remove the 3m sticky tape and affix the strip to the wall.My cabinets didn’t require the full 3metre length and it’s an easy job to cut to size with scissors at the copper coloured metal connector.It was just a case of plug in and switch on. Easy.The remote switches the lights on/off and remembers your last brightness level. You can manually change the brightness from very bright right down to very dim .Alternatively there are preset buttons from 100%, 80%, 60%, 40%, 20% & 10%.Very simple to use.I’m delighted with the product as I was thinking of having to remove the heavy & bulky cabinets and getting in a sparky to change the original fittings . That would’ve been a huge and expensive job.These are essentially posh Christmas tree lights I suppose but do what they say on the tin.

Love the 60s off delay button to allow you to leave the room with comfort and the main things is that remote works even when itâs hidden behind my mirror! Bright and easy
Bought this for a little craft project on a canvas and it did the job perfectly. I’m a bit nervous of having it on full power though as they do get very hot. Saying that, full power is so bright, it’s not necessary for my purpose. Easy to use and the adjustable dimmer remote is a handy feature.

I bought two sets in January, both are still working perfectly. The lowest setting is ideal for background light (when used in display cabinets). The highest setting is too bright and attracts passing aircraft. I somehow managed to sink one remote to both light sets, so now I can walk into the room and switch on both cabinets (in opposite corners of the room) at once.

An für sich ist der COB – Streifen nicht schlecht und die Helligkeit, gerade im bezug zur GröÃe, ist immens.Allerdings finde ich das eine oder andere durchaus verbesserbar!Da ist zum einen das Steckernetzteil.Normalerweise baut man solche LED – Streifen irgendwo ein oder an. Das ist ein solches Steckernetzteil sehr unflexibel!Ein normales mit Netzkabel wäre hier weitaus Sinnvoller, denn nicht immer hat man eine Steckdose in der Nähe wo installiert wird oder möchte so einen Klopper in der Dose stecken haben.Dann stören mich auch die, am Empfänger und der Leiste, angebrachten Hohlstecker.Die sind zwar einfach und Simpel zusammenzustecken, aber das macht nur dann Sinn, wenn der Streifen als ganzes genutzt wird.Möchte man ihn dagegen aufteilen ( Schnittmarken sind vorhanden und gut ), dann wird’s umständlich mit Y – Hohlstecker und Löten am Streifen selbst.Das geht zwar recht gut, da die Lötpunkte gut zu bearbeiten sind ( bin Elektroniker ), ist aber lange nicht jedermanns Sache !Es wurde in einer anderen Rezension noch darauf hingewiesen, das der Klebestreifen auf der Rückseite nicht gut ist.Das stimmt zwar, aber aufgrund der nicht gerade tollen Optik des Leuchtbandes im ausgeschalteten Zustand, sollte er ohnehin in einem LED – Kanalverlegt werden, somit relativiert sich das.Auch ist das Licht keineswegs zu Kalt, wie an anderer Stelle berichtet. Es mag meiner Erfahrung nach zwar nicht ganz an die 2700K ranreichen, aber es ist definitiv ganz klar Warmweià und alles andere als ungemütlich.Aufgrund der schmale der Streifen mit 8 mm eignet er sich hervorragend zum verlegen in Holzstreifen – Akkustikwandpanels und es gibt hier bei Amazon auch passend schmale ( max. 12 mm AuÃenbreite ) LED – Kanäle, wenn auch keine groÃe Auswahl.Somit bleibt ein heller und gut verarbeiteter LED – Streifen mit etwas Verbesserungspotential, der sich die 4 Sterne durchaus verdient hat.Trotz Testmuster Ehrlich und mit Mühe bewertet, weil sonst völlig Sinnlos âï¸!Hoffe geholfen / bewahrt zu haben und GrüÃe alle”DIY- Lichtmacher” ð.

Ich habe diese LED-Streifen unter dem Boxenspringbett installiert und sie erfüllen ihren Zweck als dezente Nachtbeleuchtung sehr gut. Das Licht ist sanft genug, um nicht störend zu wirken, wenn man nachts aufsteht, und bietet dennoch genügend Orientierung im Raum, ohne das Hauptlicht einschalten zu müssen. Die Befestigung unter dem Bett sorgt für eine indirekte Beleuchtung, die den Raum angenehm und einladend wirken lässt.Einziger kleiner Wermutstropfen ist die Farbtemperatur. Obwohl als “warmweiÔ deklariert, könnte das Licht für meinen persönlichen Geschmack noch ein wenig wärmer sein. Ein kleines bisschen noch behaglicher, vielleicht sogar leicht ins Bernstein gehende Licht hätte ich mir für die Nacht gewünscht, um eine noch entspanntere Atmosphäre zu schaffen. Aber ich sehe ein, dass das Licht ja nicht nur fürs Schlafzimmer konzipiert ist.Insgesamt bin ich mit den LED-Streifen zufrieden, da sie die gewünschte Funktion als unauffällige Nachtbeleuchtung hervorragend erfüllen. Wer jedoch, wie ich, ein sehr warmes Licht für maximale Gemütlichkeit sucht, sollte möglicherweise die mit einer niedrigeren Kelvin-Zahl (z.B. unter 2700K) wählen. Für den GroÃteil der Anwender, die eine dezente und funktionale Beleuchtung wünschen, sind diese warmweiÃen Streifen jedoch eine ausgezeichnete Wahl.
