The item that arrived works, but was not the item in the photo
This did the job, though seems susceptible to VFD noise. However the photo shows a 6 wire device and a pinout showing termination connections. The item that arrived has only 4 wires, D+ D- USB5V USB0V.So, it did what I needed, but is not the item described.

I needed this to hook a solar Inverter to a RaspberryPi so that they could communicate. It worked perfectly, with no issues at all.

I’ll be able to comment more on longevity once I use it for a while, but this cable was the first one that worked immediately for communicating with my LiFePo4 batteries using the Valence software. I’ve tried other cheaper ones and only get them to work after messing with drivers – if at all.
