Customers say

Customers find the microphone crystal clear and appreciate its compatibility with Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones, simple plug-and-play setup, and value for money. The sound quality and build quality receive mixed feedback – while some praise the noise cancellation, others report poor sound using the V-Moda cable, and some units broke down after a year of use. The cable length and volume control also get mixed reviews, with customers appreciating the long braided cable but finding the volume control clunky.

The box says professional grade mic… it sure feels it!
Having tried more gaming headsets than I’d like to admit and being so very disappointed with the quality of the mic’s, I was skeptical that this paired with my Sennheiser 598’s would be any better. I could not be more wrong!I stream games using OBS, and for every headset I’ve tried I’ve had to add suppression, gain and noise gate filters. Only one of the headsets I tried it actually worked on. But even then I was not happy. One of my main problems is I am a “nasal gamer” (as I like to call it) so all mics pick up my breathing in a bad way lol.So onto this mic, WOW! First off, I was able to completely remove all filters on OBS. Didn’t need any suppression or noise gate to block unwanted sounds. This mic only picks up me. The sound is super clear, and it actually makes my voice sound like I would expect to here it. I can even move the mic well away from my mouth and it’s still loud and clear. I cannot stress how clear this mic is. Their is no breathing, no static, no background noise. Truly awesome. The box says professional grade mic… it sure feels it!The stork is my next favourite feature. It is extremely flexible. You bend it, and it stays. Very nice. My only worry is whether this rigidness stays over time. We will see.The control unit works well. It has a volume dial and a mute switch and a clip on the back to attach it to clothes. One criticism here though is I think that unit is too big. Many others have the same functionality in a lot smaller unit. It could be stuff that makes this thing so awesome and clear though is housed in there so I’m not grumbling. It doesn’t get in the way so its fine. The braided cable is nice and long and comes with a nice quality cable tie. Useful as I use a game controller so I don’t have to have miles of cable all over.In the box is an adapter to convert the 3.5 jack into a headphone and mic jack for those that prefer to plug directly into their computer sockets. All jacks appear gold so looks quality to me.I was mildy disappointed that a mic this good let itself down a little by not coming with a pop filter, but I bought a pack of 10 mini’s off Amazon anyway for a fiver so at least I have spares.Final verdict, this mic is the business! If you are struggling to find a boom mic style gaming headset, make your own. Having tried so many different high end gaming headsets, I’m confident I now have the perfect headset… Sennheiser 598SR + V-MODA BoomPro Microphone.

    Fantastic little mic
A fantastic microphone for the money. Add it to a good pair of headphones like the Phillips SHP-9500 and you’ll have a much better headset than most £200 headsets on sale. The mic is extremely clear. Not too trebbly, and has good lowend and depth to it. The only downside is it can pickup more background noise than I’d have wished for. It also doesn’t come with a boom pop filter. The mute switch and volume slider is nice and works well. The cable is great quality, a braided black cable which is fairly thin and unobtrusive. Don’t let that put you off, it feels that it will last the test of time.I had to use the provided splitter for it to work on my PC so be cautious. It wouldn’t work on the my PC IO with the single 3.5mm jack. I put the splitter into 1 mic input and 1 audio input on my internal soundcard to work.Sound quality to the headphones is completely unaffected which is a huge plus. All in all a great and clever little device

4 stars, great product but quality control is questionable. Read full review.
V – Moda BoomPro Microphone for computer games / Internet telephony , BlackPros:Great Mic for speaking on discord or other VoIP programmes.Turns your headphones into a better headset than your current gaming ones.Clarity is amazing.Volume is amazing.Ease of setup.Cons:I received a faulty product when first ordered, but amazon were quick to replace it. The problem is that it was picking up my speaker sound and also giving me a lot of static. The volume was so low that discord was having difficulties picking it up even with mic boost at +20dB. It was really frustrating because it was hard to determine whether it was a faulty mic or just bad setting in windows so I had to spend 2 days messing with my computer before concluding it was the mic. I’m glad I did figure it out and now the replacement sounds great! So for those of you reading this:If you hear static and the recording volume is low, chances are you have a faulty product and you should ask for a replacement. Make sure you do some tests with an external sound card to see if the low volume problem persists and it still picks up your headphone sound (basically streaming what you hear) before making a replacement order though.Hope this is helpful!

The best microphone for bluetooth headphones
I bought this for the Sony WH-1000XM4. I mainly use it for work and so far it’s worked really well.Although the Sony WH-1000XM4 has an internal mic, I had to buy a separate mic for gaming to be used in the PS4.Mainly, I use my headphones for work. No problem at all with pairing and having phone calls, meetings, etc. When it comes to consoles, I had to get this V-MODA microphone for gaming. It’s worth buying, specially when you run out of battery.Sound quality is great and high quality.I highly recommend this product for any headphones with/without a mic. If you are gaming, this mic will definitely boost your communication. The sound is clear and it’s quite ergonomic. You can adjust it in any way you want. It also has a strong clip where you can adjust the incoming volume and a mute/unmute button.

I use this for remote work customer service and it works very well with my Beats Studio Pro. I was concerned about voice clarity due to the reviews my voice comes through clearly on the Salesforce soft phone and in Zoom meetings. I even set the voice input to the lowest setting on the computer sound settings to ensure no other noises are picked up and my voice is still CRYSTAL CLEAR.One con so far is that volume controller barely affects volume – turning to the lowest setting doesn’t mute volume and barely lowers it.I was using the original VModa mic attachment for the last couple months since the mics on the Jabra headsets my job sends us keeps malfunctioning, and it worked well but it picked up everything even noises from shifting around in the chair. This newer version still picks up extra loud noises that are up close but it’s much more muted, plus it doesn’t pick up slight noises (like my partner doing dishes in the background) at all.So happy with the purchase and would definitely recommend for others using Beats headphones for soft phone calls through work and Zoom meetings. My partner now uses the older version for gaming and it’s prob the best option for gamers but haven’t tested the new one for gaming yet to say whether it’s good for gaming just yet.

I have the original V-Moda Boom Pro. This is a side-grade that I was happy to get as I often game in the same room as my partner. We are only 4 feet apart, and the old mic would pick up her voice unless I set a very high noise gate in Discord. Anything auto/AI noise canceling was hit or miss, as it would decide that her speaking was my speaking. After setting up this mic, ensuring it’s within an inch of my mouth, and angling it correctly—wow! She can now yell at her screen and my mic doesn’t pick it up at all. The sound quality is a slight step down, but I’m picky about such things and my friends on Discord didn’t notice or comment on it.

I own V-MODA headphones, I have owned this microphone for 2years now. I was originally looking to buy a headset for talking on the phone and gaming. I just didn’t like the idea that I had a great pair of headphones and would have to pay quite a steep price to get a good headset. Then I found this.If you have good headphones with a 3.5mm jack, you might as well make them into a great headset for pretty cheap. The cable is quite long, which has both pros and cons. It might snag but also gives you more range. The 3.5 to 3.5 jack actually disconnected from some tugs and saved the cable a few times when it got caught on furniture or else when walking.Volume control does not spike and the microphone mute switch cuts all the sound as far as I know. I was worried since I had mid-cable audio controls like this before and they stopped working quickly. Not this one, thanks to the sturdy connections and braided cable. The only issue is where the volume clip is on the cord, close to the microphone. You can clip it near your collar but that’s about it and it does leave a lot of cable awkwardly hanging on the other side.I would recommend this to every V-MODA or 3.5mm headphones owner out there in a heartbeat.Pros:Good materials and construction, durableSmall design, light and easy to carry in the headphone caseBraided cableCheap priceMicrophone qualityCons:Long cable tends to drag on ground if sitting and/or snag onto things if movingThe volume control clip is at a weird length, close to the face
