Great tool for tracing ethernet connections in your house.
Great product at a reasonable price. I used it to trace what connections are related in different parts of my new home as the electricians failed to label these connections in the utility room where my router is located. I was able to trace all the correct connections swiftly and also check if the connections are good with this tool.

Easy to use but needs a bit more experience to understand
VCELINK Network Cable Tester:My experience with this hasn’t been very successful. I am still trying to understand if it works or not.I assumed that this would help me identify exactly what the cable capacity is without reading the writing on the side of the cable. Basically, I wanted to see if this would help me identify fake cables; if it was a cat8, then cat8 would light up only, but this wasn’t the case.However, the only reading I got from all my cables was all the lights cascading one after the other. I am guessing that means that they are real and not damaged. This is what the documentation that came with it suggests.I am guessing that this is more for advanced users who know how to put together their own cables. Something that I have no plans to do any time soon.I am also guessing that the lights don’t represent the types of cable but the pin/wires in the cable that might be working or not.The product quality is average as expected for a reading device such as this.The blue case in one of the photos did not arrive with my one.

One of the lights doesnât work. But cable is fine. Same thing on multiple cables. Even ready made manufactured ones. So not reliable for diy cables.

Hat mir beim Verlegen von 30 Metern Netzwerkkabel wunderbar geholfen. Nachdem ich erst einen Knick im Kabel an ungünstiger Stelle befürchtet habe, konnte ich mit Hilfe des Kabeltesters sehr schnell herausfinden, dass ich einen Fehler beim Verkabeln der Netzwerkdose gemacht habe. Parfait pour tester mes câbles et prises dans l’installation de mon appartement. Il m’a permis de montrer à l’entrepreneur qu’il fallait que son électricien corrige le sertissage des prises de l’appartement. Facile a prendre en main avec les tutoriels qu’on trouve sur YouTube ou Google. La notice fournie est un peu légère et en anglais.Il faut bien penser à acheter une pile (non fournie) mais c’est précisé dans la description

Accidentally cut a cat7 cable that my son then repaired. We ended up having to test it multiple times to get it to work perfectly, but in the end this unit made it a trivial exercise. Also check the continuity through the entire house and found everything perfect. If you need it, you need it badly.
