This USB-C dock from Vention comes nicely packaged in a robust picture box, inside which we get the main dock itself, a USB connecting cable and an instruction booklet.The device has a smooth aluminium wrap-around shell and stands upright, but also incorporates a swivel non-slip base which can rotate 90 degrees to produce a larger footprint and hence give increased lateral stability.The dock plugs into your host computer’s USB-C port to provide a plethora of connection options.To get the most out of the dock, your host’s USB-C port should be Thunderbolt 4 enabled. It works with Thunderbolt 3 as well, but the video options and data rates are more restricted. Ideally, the USB-C port should also accept Power Delivery (PD) which can remove the need for a separate power supply for the computer.To use the Power Delivery facility you need to supply your own PD-capable power supply which plugs into the dock. The dock then uses this to provide power to the computer and also to devices connected to the dock.The dock can drive up to three additional monitors at up to 4K resolution. With one monitor, it can run at 60Hz, but with two monitors this appears to drop to 30Hz each. There are two HDMI ports and one DisplayPort (DP) port. If you want 60Hz refresh rate with all three, you need to drop to FHD 1080p resolution.The monitor ports are located on the rear panel, along with the USB-C port to connect to the host computer. A short USB-C to USB-C cable is provided for this. There is also the PD input, but you will need to provide your own PD-capable power supply as one isn’t included. Up to 100W of power can go to the host computer. A small white LED just above the PD input port lights up when PD power is connected.Also on the rear panel are two USB2.0 Type-A ports for connecting low speed devices such as a mouse and a keyboard, and a Gigabit Ethernet port, complete with status and data transfer LEDs built-in.Round the front we get two card reader slots – one for microSD/TF cards and one for a full-size SD card. Both slots can be used simultaneously, allowing you to transfer files from one card to another.Below the card slots are three more USB Type-A ports, but these are much higher speed. Two are USB3.2 Gen2 which means a theoretical data transfer speed of 10Gbps, while the other is USB3.0 which supports transfer rates up to 5Gbps.Then we get two USB-C data ports. One runs at the same 10Gbps maximum speed as the USB3.2 Gen2 ports above, while the other is USB3.2 Gen1 which is half that.Finally, we have an analogue audio jack which uses a TRRS (tip/ring/ring/sleeve) 3.5mm (1/8th-inch) jack to provide stereo audio and a microphone connection.The three 4K video and the USB 3.2 connection options put this dock at the higher end of the market, giving a wide range of connection choices and high data rates. The USB2.0 ports are perhaps less useful given the proliferation of Bluetooth mice and keyboards, but can still be useful for presentation remotes and secondary keyboard controllers. Having a full-size Ethernet port and additional audio connections provide capabilities often left out of the thinner, more modern laptop designs.The dock’s swivel base is a neat additional feature, while the overall build quality is impressive with no sharp edges or rough finishes. The colour scheme looks professional with the branding kept to a minimum.In use, the dock only gets slightly warm and every feature we tested worked as expected. Having both card slots usable at the same time is another nice feature indicative of a modern chipset inside.

Dispositivo molto bello alla vista. Uno dei pochi con prese USB3.2 sulla parte frontale.Peccato che la connessione HDMI non fosse stabile, il monitor ogni tanto perdeva la connessione, nonostante fossero connessi solamente mouse e tastiera. La porta ethernet di fatto non funzionava.Alimentato con un adattatore 60W. Contattato il produttore, mi è stato consigliato di cambiare i cavi di collegamento ed alimentare con un adattatore più’ performante. Avviato il reso.

Der erste Eindruck beim Auspacken des Gerätes: Hochwertig!Vor allem, wenn man sich billiges Plastik erwartet, fällt dieser Eindruck umso stärker aus.Aber am Ende kommt es bei einer Dockingstation auf die inneren Werte an – und auch hier hat sie mich restlos überzeugt.Die Positionierung der Anschlüsse ist gut durchdacht. Vorne sind die USB- und Steckkarten-Plätze, hinten Strom, Bildschirme und LAN. Dadurch hat man keine Kabel, die um die Station herum gelegt werden müssen.Windows 11 hat die Bildschirme an der Dockingstation sofort erkannt, ohne irgendwelche Treiber installieren zu müssen.Ich habe hier auch noch eine 300 Euro Dockingstation stehen, die mir mein Arbeitgeber für das Homeoffice zur Verfügung gestellt hat – aber ich kann beim besten Willen keinen Unterschied zu dieser Dockingstation um nur 129 Euro feststellen.Und auch optisch finde ich sie absolut ansprechend. Auch hier hat man sich die richtigen Gedanken gemacht. Denn man kann sie schön neben seinen Bildschirm stellen, wo sie wenig Platz braucht und hat so alle Anschlüsse in optimaler Position, um schnell etwas an- oder abstecken zu können.Durch den drehbaren Standfuà ist auch gewährleistet, dass sie nicht umkippen kann – nicht mal, wenn man ihr absichtlich einen Stoà verpasst, was ich erfolgreich getestet habe ;-)Ich bin restlos überzeugt und möchte ihr am liebsten 6 Sterne geben.Ich hoffe nur, dass sie auch lange hält, das wird sich noch zeigen. Vorerst bin ich aber guter Dinge, dass dem so ist und würde gegebenenfalls meine Rezi anpassen.

Ich habe die VENTION 15-in-1 USB-C Docking Station jetzt seit ein paar Tagen im Einsatz und bin ziemlich zufrieden damit. Das Teil bietet echt viele Anschlüsse â HDMI, DisplayPort, schnelle USB-C- und USB-A-Ports, Ethernet, Audio und sogar Kartenleser für SD und microSD.Am meisten beeindruckt mich die Möglichkeit, bis zu drei Monitore gleichzeitig anzuschlieÃen. Bei zwei Bildschirmen klappt das mit 4K@30Hz super, bei drei Monitoren muss man auf Full HD runter, was für mich okay ist. Die Einrichtung ging problemlos, einfach an den USB-C-Port des Laptops hängen und loslegen â keine Treiber notwendig.Was mich ein bisschen nervt: Um die Power-Delivery-Funktion zu nutzen, braucht man ein eigenes Netzteil. Hätte man bei dem Preis ruhig dazulegen können. Aber wenn man eins hat, läuft der Laptop stabil mit 100W. Die USB 2.0-Ports finde ich auch etwas überholt, aber für Maus und Tastatur reichtâs.Insgesamt macht die Dockingstation einen hochwertigen Eindruck und steht durch die drehbare Basis sicher auf dem Schreibtisch. Für mein Multi-Monitor-Setup und die ganzen Peripheriegeräte ist das Teil echt praktisch. Würde ich wieder kaufen.
