A superb video tripod for the price
I was pleasantly surprised with this tripod and amazed at the available height. It is certainly not a flimsy piece of kit and it’s got a bit of weight to it. I bought this after being disappointed with the ‘juddery’ pan & tilt performance of some cheaper models. The legs are firm and stable, and the wide feet spread the load very well. The feet are removeable to expose the spikes for embedding the tripod into the earth, although there is not a load-bearing hook to hang a weight underneath it. The legs don’t need to be on level ground either, since the adjustable ball head means you can level the head independently using the built-in spirit level. The fluid head is probably better suited to a heavier video camera (>1Kg) than my lightweight Nikon D5200 seen in the photograph because, whilst very smooth in both pan & tilt, it doesn’t offer a large adjustment of drag resistance with lightweight loads. Nevertheless, the overall perfomance is very good for the money – IMO.

Good Stable and Robust Tripod!
Ordered this tripod as I did my due diligence and out of all of them, this was the most sturdy, and recommended. Donât pay more than £130.00 for it! There is a known issue with the fluid head in that it is not very fluid for your video! But I intend to replace this head when this becomes too much of an issue for me. The tripod itself is very sturdy, which is what I wanted! I will probably be buying a second as I am getting a second camera for my work. As the cameras are fixed during my video shoots, the panning is not an issue for me, but may be if you are looking to do much paning in your own video work. If you do a lot of paning work – this will not be the tripod for you!

Value video tripod
It’s a good tripod, seems well built with the exception to the center triangle which is made of what appears to be thin aluminum with some fragile rivets, which I hope won’t break too soon. Another note on that design is that there is no way to lower the tripod any further than the minimum height (around 850cm) because the triangle doesn’t have a way of extending, the legs can’t open beyond what you already see in the picture. You will need another tripod for any shots lower than this. The maximum height is incredible! I won’t probably need that for the majority of my work but it’s very nice to know it’s there in case you need it, it can certainly allow for shooting above the heads of people standing. The rubber feet are very nice and won’t slide on the ground. The only downside (which is common to pretty much all tripods with this design) is that the rubber feet are very hard to remove in case you want to use the spikes, it requires a lot of effort. The head itself is very good, providing smooth pans and tilts. For the price, we can’t expect much more features.Bottom line is this is a value tripod, it’s definitely worth buying.

Fantastic Upgrade
Bought to replace a three year old stainless steel fluid head tripod and have been delighted with the upgrade. It’s super lightweight and well balanced as well as being super pretty and professional to look at. The red and black colouring throughout looks for all the world like a manfrotto product, but at a fraction of the price for a fluid head system. I might be mistaken, but the fluid head seems to have a counter weight system where it pulls up or down to level the camera off. I’m not really used to that and suspect it might just need a bit of wearing down, but it still allows for very smooth movement. The legs are super tall, at least 6’3, which is great to see since I’ve used so many tripods that are shorter than me. Unfortunately there’s no way to spread them so the minimum height is quite tall too. I do really like the feet too. super sturdy, they hook around the legs and can also be adjusted around uneven surfaces. If you’re willing to spend â¬130 on a tripod I’d definitely recommend this.

Great tripod, but the quick release plate on the …
Great tripod, but the quick release plate on the head is very loose and jiggles around when you have the camera on it. It was ok to start with then after 2 uses this started to happen and its getting worse. I assume this is a production fault. So great tripod, but useless to get steady shots as mine has this fault to it. Hopefully, this can be resolved.Very disappointing and as I use this professionally I need this fixed or I will send the whole tripod back.Update: Have been trying out different things today and found that I have to put extra pressure on the middle of the plate to get it to be tight on the head, so it’s not completely useless, but still not great. SO corrected from 2 stars to 3.

Top quality.
Top quality item, got it for my son as he takes train videos. He is really happy with it. Easy to use, sturdy but light enough to carry around. Would recommend.

Great quality for the money
As a professional videographer I needed a second tripod for live events that was stable yet a bit lighter than my trusty Manfrotto which I use as my main support for my camcoder. the VX-18m is just the job for my second camera, a GH4. It supports the camera complete with slider and mounted video light perfectly. the adjustable drag is good and the tripod has a quality feel. the tripod is heavy enough to be stable yet light enough to move into place without tiring you out on a shoot. It comes with a quality padded bag and although not built to the same standard as my Manfrotto it is a quarter of the price and excellent quality for the task for which it was purchased
