Basic webcam with a decent light
The feature set on this webcam is basic. It has a fixed focal length lens, but the integrated light performs well.In use, the webcam just works. It was just a matter of plugging it in and using it. The clip works well for perching on top of a monitor or laptop screen, and the tripod thread is a nice touch if you want to mount it another way. The privacy cover felt a little flimsy, but I never use them anyway (I always unplug my webcams when I am done with them). I found the low light performance to be really grainy, but fortunately the video light integrated into the camera works pretty well, and helps compensate for the basic camera performance.Overall, its the video light that elevates this basic webcam into something more capable.

Functional 2k Webcam – OK picture and video – worked better ant 1080p.My son needed an upgrade to his outdated 720p webcam for classes and meetings so decided to give this a try.Overall it was acceptable when it was used but we knew this when we purchased for the price paid and I believe for a 2k webcam at this price it worked OK, not great overall but the at this price was right and if it came up missing or lost then no great loss in money. As a webcam for taking photos and video it did a acceptable job, there was a few meetings that the webcam became jittery at times during meetings with lots of people and video but after a minute the issue went away.Webcam was easy to setup, connect and use with various meeting suites like Google Meet and Teams. Microphone was also acceptable each time it was used. The camera does have a good amount of motion in up/down/left/right to get the camera positioned where you need it vs others so that was nice to see.There is a nice feature of a dimmable light bar for better webcam and this did work fine. I was not a fan of the “security” feature to block the camera as I noticed areas of my desk area were still visible when in the secure mode covering the cameras lens.For myself I found it did the job for a webcam just nothing to justify 4 or 5 stars but good enough for non work related meetings.

Poor quality video, blurry images, poor packaging, won’t be used for anything
Paying a little more doesn’t always mean that you get better quality . . . but sometimes it does. At £15.99 this webcam is overpriced and poor value because I can’t see it ever being used and it’ll just stay in its box. Speaking of which, when the item arrived the box was very tatty and the overall quality of packaging was poor.I’ve had this webcam on a solid overhead mount. I’ve tried it in various software including OBS studio, Microsoft Teams, the Windows 10 cam app and I can’t get any better quality than the video I’ve uploaded. I’ve cleaned the lens with my pro camera gear and even had a magnifier on it to make sure I’ve not missed a plastic scratch cover! The output video would be useable for something like a security camera where quality isn’t an issue, but for anything else it’s not very good. Having made the comment about a security camera, I did swap this out for an iGeek security camera (from Amazon) and the video quality was off the charts compared to this, so at least I know the poor results are nothing to do with my set-up.It’s a shame because the camera looks nice and the mounting clip and standard 1/4″ mounting thread are actually very good. The cameras internal ring light is a little pointless though, it doesn’t really do much to improve the images.I regularly use several webcams and this is by far the worst of the bunch. A couple of them (from Amazon) cost not much more than this and are far superior so unfortunately I can’t recommend it.

Only Passable as an Online Meetings/School Webcam
I originally picked up this webcam thinking it came with a tripod stand, only to realize later that it merely supports one rather than including it. I had hoped to have a portable, adjustable setup that would keep my camera leveled wherever I used it, but unfortunately, that wasnât the case. This one’s on me thoughPackaging came in a bruised and battered state. Filled with deep, massive dents as well as rips on the opening covers. This surely won’t be caused by delivery so this adds to the overall experience most of which isn’t great to begin withWhile the webcam itself is functional, its privacy cover leaves a lot to be desired as it doesnât fully obscure the lens, allowing the edges to remain visible and showing quite a lot due to the , making it essentially pointless for actual privacyAdvertised 2K resolution is another disappointment, text description shows 1080p though and while it isn’t false, most people if not all would associate 2k with 1440p and not 1080p. Despite its claims, my existing 1080p webcam produces noticeably better video quality, offering sharper and more refined images. The dynamic range is fairly limited, meaning uneven lighting can significantly impact the clarity of the footage. The built-in fill light, though a nice concept, doesnât provide enough brightness to make a meaningful difference in low-light conditions, rendering it more of a gimmick than a useful featureMics on these types of webcams have always been horrible but had to test it anyway. After testing the microphone, my expectations were met, it was indeed horribleOverall, while the webcam is serviceable for basic video calls and general use, its limitations make it difficult to justify. The lack of a proper privacy cover and the “misleading(for most people)” resolution claims mean it falls short of expectations. While budget it is friendly, there are certainly better options available that offer a more refined experience
