A minor upgrade over the original pads
As a glasses wearer, they are not noticeably less or more comfortable than my old DT770 ear pads, and to the touch they feel quite similar, which is nice. The cooling gel is noticeable when first putting them on. Because they are a bit thicker / more solid than the original plush ear pads, they stop sound escaping a bit more. They look pretty nice too, and I don’t imagine they will age as badly as the original ones, which went a disconcerting yellow colour with age.I haven’t really noticed any change in sound. Installation was fine too, it was a bit of a fiddle (3 mins) but that is more to do with the design of the ear pad mount.Watching the video that comes in a QR code with the product helped with installation, and they arrived in a little plastic bag (I’ve seen people complaining about this, but I think it is fine – they’re pads, they hardly need protection).

First impressions
Easy enough to fit, as much as that can be said for the Beyerdynamic DT770’s anyway. I’ve done this a few times with Beyer replacement pads and this was no different. There’s a card which links to a fitting video in the pack, which I watched after fitting them. Nothing new there though, twist and stretch, curse a few times, rinse and repeat until it goes on.Initial impressions… ear aperture is slightly smaller/squarer edged, difficult to find a position for me where they aren’t either resting on the top of my ear or compressing my earlobe. This is just a minor gripe so far, the pads are super soft and not uncomfortable sitting on ear, but the official earpads would comfortably sit around my ear without touching.No major impact on sound to my untrained old ears. I might notice a difference if I were to go back and forth between the pads but given the hassle of changing them I’m calling it ok.As for the cooling gel pads, I can’t say I can feel any difference, but I’m heavily bearded so perhaps not the best person to judge. They’re soft, even pressure, still comfortable after a couple of hours. All good.Overall, decent comfortable replacements. Given the hassle of getting official Beyerdynamic replacements in the UK I’m happy. Hopefully more durable than the offical Beyerdynamic pads as I’m sick of them falling apart.

gel came out of both earcups after less than a year
they are comfortable and easier than the original earcups to put on and off but the gel inside burst out of one ear and then a couple months later the otherside also split and had the gel come out 🙁 so good but not super durable

I’m very disappointed with these ear pads. They represent a rare example of how to get everything wrong – price, presentation and product. I rarely award one star, and when I do it’s because the product is not fit for purpose, or is defective.I have a pair of DT770 PROs which I use for rough-mixing tracks in my home recording studio. The stock DT770 ear pads are a grey, velvety fabric, which looks nice and is comfortable, but wears out and gets sweaty on hot days. These ‘Cooling Gel’ pads seemed like the ideal solution.At £22.45 they were expensive, so I was a bit surprised to see them packed in a ziplock bag. I don’t generally like loads of packaging which immediately gets thrown away, but at this price I think the earpads should at least have come in a printed, card box. The ziplock bag just looks cheap, and it’s not recycleable like card would be.At this point I was less than impressed already, so you can imagine my disappointment when I opened the plastic bag to discover that one of the pads was split open. Not a little split either – it actually looks as if it was never sealed properly in the first place. If so, that’s a terrible failure of Quality Control, which is totally unacceptable at this price point.OK, so we have a defective item that’s poorly presented. If I’d received the earpads in a nice box and in perfect condition, would I be recommending them?No. If they cost a fiver, maybe, but the current price of £22.45 is too high. The defect allowed me to see inside the earpad, which is made from a ring of foam with a thin layer of blue, soft plastic ‘gel’ over the top. There’s nothing special in here.Nevertheless, in the interest of writing a fair and objective review, I did install the undamaged pad on my headphones to see how they might perform.Being completely fair, they are more comfortable than the stock pads. They are softer and the pressure is spread over a larger area. If I was using the headset for extended periods I would definitely prefer these gel pads.However. The DT770 PROs are studio headphones, and deliver a very neutral frequency response, making them ideal for mastering and mixing. Changing the pads changes the way the headphones sound, so if this is important for you, itâs something to bear in mind. These, soft pads bring the headphoneâs drivers noticeably closer to my ears, and the sound difference is noticeable.

Almohadillas más delgadas que la original sin embargo son más cómodas, no se como funciona pero el ancho del orificio donde va la oreja y el rose de la almohadilla con la parte trasera de la oreja no lastima en lo más absoluto, cambia la estética de los audÃfonos de una forma muy favorable¿bule. Al usar la misma tela del auricular y no doble tela hace que el sonido se sienta más original a como fue pensado del diseño de los audÃfonos. Me encantaron

I have the DT-990 Pro. Bought second-hand, cleaned up and refurbished with original replacement ear pads and foam inserts. I was careful with them, but the velour on the earpads got gross again. These Wicked Cushion ear pads popped up on an ad and I decided to get them. Good price through the Wicked Cushion Amazon store with good delivery option.The ear pads came with a card insert that had a QR code for an instruction video. They warned it could be tricky to pop the new pads on, but it was fine for me.Have been using it for a week and a bit now. They work great. They are easier to keep clean than velour. I would argue they are a bit more comfortable too due to the material.Overall very happy with the purchase.

Son muy cómodos y frescos pero no hacen milagros. Hay que tener en cuenta que cambian un poco el sonido de los auriculares, en mi caso un dt990 ha matado un poco los altos que tampoco esta mal del todo.

Been wearing these for quite a while now and I’m surprised by how well they’re holding up. They have a bit less depth than OE replacements, so my giant ears are a bit squeezed by them. But the material isn’t getting compressed nearly as quickly as other replacements I’ve tried so the longevity they offer is worth the slight discomfort I get by using them. They are also very easy to clean compared to the original fuzz.If they someday offer the same product that’s just a bit larger, Chefs kiss.
