Review of X Sense Smart Smoke Alarm for Home with Magnetic Mount, Wireless Interlinked Fire Alarm, 10-Year Life and Replaceable Battery, App Function.On occasion an item comes along that from initial observation and use is quite impressive, this one of those items, from the packing to inspection and use the design and detail of these smoke alarms does provide confidence in their ability, the only question remaining would be durability however this can only be answered with time and use .The pack received has three smoke alarms, a base station with mains power supply, comprehensive operation manual and all fittings, the items are as per advertised specification and can be linked together by their own inbuilt 2.4Ghz wireless transmit and receive signal, when connected the smoke alarms if situated well apart within household will act as one, should one item detect smoke all three will sound their independent alarm sound simultaneously. The X-Sense app also able to link to the wireless signal so as settings and testing can be done remotely if required from within the range of the wireless signal.The X-Sense hub provided is purely to link all the smoke alarms to the internet via a required X-sense account, thus should a smoke detector be activated a signal is sent to your X-sense account pushing a notification to all account connected mobile devices, if one is away from the premises protected one can also control the smoke detectors by using the same contact method.The innovation of X-sense is that all the items sold such as smoke, carbon dioxide and water flood alarms can all be connected together on the same system and controlled from the one mobile if required, the actual items themselves have a nice visual appearance, are easy to install, connect and use either manually on the device or via the mobile app.This an impressive all in one four part smoke detector kit where individual items can be used separately, in pairs or all together, all can be controlled individually or from one or more mobile devices if required.

Good quality smoke alarms with added security due to interconnectivity
This is a review of the X-Sense Interconnected Smart Smoke Alarm (set of three), with SBS50 Base Station. We already have X-Sense smoke alarms in our home, so I know that they are reliable and good quality. I ordered these because – unlike the ones we have now – they have interconnectivity. This means that when one alarm goes off they all go off; so if you have one of them in your bedroom there is no way you will sleep through a fire that has activated an alarm elsewhere in the house. Also, if an alarm goes off when you are not at home, you will be notified via the app. You can then call a neighbour to check to see if there is actually a fire.I am very happy with this new system, but I do have two minor criticisms:1. The size of these alarms is different to the stand-alone ones, so I can’t just swap them out – they won’t fit onto the bases already screwed into our ceilings.2. The life span of the alarms (i.e. the sensors) is 10 years, but the battery only lasts 5 years The stand-alone alarms have a 10-year life span for both the detector and the battery. I assume this difference is because the need for the alarms to connect to the base station uses more power.
