Excellent scanner
I bought XTOOL D5S OBD2 scanner because my Peugeot 308 2015 always give me engine light and mechanic never explain good what is happen. With this tool I connect very easy, it ask me to choose car model and then I see live data, injection, oxygen sensors, coolant temp, everything. For me it was first time I can see so deep inside engine computer, not only simple fault code like cheap scanner.I discover many thing â mixture regulation too rich, downstream oxygen sensor signal problem, purge valve maybe stuck open, and even communication code with BSI. Before I donât know, I just guess, now I know exactly what is wrong and where to look. This save me a lot of money because mechanic usually change part one by one until find. Now I can go to garage and tell them what is wrong already.The screen is big and clear, touch work smooth. Update is free lifetime, I already update many times and now it cover new cars also. Special functions also very good â oil reset, battery register, throttle learning, ABS, DPF, TPMS and more. For me this is like professional garage tool but in my hand.Only small problem is sometimes connection to ECU take some seconds more, but once connected it work very stable and read data very fast. I also like that it show charging voltage and real time values, so I trust what I see.Really recommend this scanner to anyone want save money and check car themself. For me is best tool I buy this year, now I feel more confident about my car, because I know what problem exist before go to mechanic.

Impressive OBD2 Scanner
I Recently purchased this XTool D5S OBD2 scanning tool which I am pleasantly surprised with.I already have a dongle scanning tool by this same company which is handy for resetting fault codes but this D5S is a game changer. My plan was to write a review on what it can do but there are too many other reviewers doing this and anything I have to say about it would just be repeating what they had to say.What I will say is that this device works straight out of the box. All I had to do was register it via wi-fi from the device itself, download all the available updates, which was to be expected as this is part and parcel of any computer, plug it into my car and switch on. There arenât any books of instructions to wade through as the device is simple to use and self explanatory as you progress through the menu.I have tree family cars in my home and although I knew there was faults in any of them I decided to try this scanner on them all. It didnât take long as the scanning is very quick and highly detailed. I had noticed a couple of reviewers saying this device could do with more function levels but lets face it, if you do require a more advanced scanner then you are obviously a professional engineer in which case you would buy according to your needs. Having said that, this device appears to cover every functionality that the home mechanic would require and more.I did mention that none of my cars had any faults, at least thatâs what I thought, as my computer based diagnostic software didnât detect any issues. However, this scanner detected an issue with an airbag on my own car which I will be attending to.Bare in mind that a garage will charge £150-170 to diagnose your check engine warning light before doing any repair work. Even if youâre not mechanically minded at least youâll be able to confirm that youâre not being overcharged for any unnecessary work.

Despite its many strengths, the scanner doesnât quite reach top-tier performance. A few advanced features Iâve come to rely on in higher-end models are missing here. For its price point, itâs a slight disappointment that it doesnât offer those extra refinements. That said, itâs still a competent device and does the job well for most everyday diagnostic tasks.Overall, the OBD2 Scanner D5S is a strong 4-star product. Itâs robust, easy to use, and packed with enough features to justify its cost for many users. While itâs not quite top-level, itâs still a reliable and solid choice for anyone looking for a dependable diagnostic tool with room to grow.

Fast scanning, fast diagnostics result and very fast at downloading updates. The interface is smooth and the touch screen is very responsive. For the price this is a good bit of kit. The obd connector isnât that great but thatâs not a major issue.

Ordered this because my family owns used cars that unfortunately pop engine codes pretty consistently.It’s fantastic having a stand-alone unit that can pull and clear codes and this device gives you all the info you need and can even email you reports, etc. Since I’ve gotten it I’ve already received multiple firmware updates for the device along with vendor specific car upgrades, so it’s clearly actively supported by the manufacturer, which is a great sign.If you deal with the headaches of driving used, you owe it to yourself to get one of these.

This diagnostic tool has helped me maintain an older pickup truck with its big screen, which I can see in bright sunlight. I recently used it to monitor my engine coolant temperature and throttle position sensor, and it gave me all the data I needed. I like that this tool also lets me do things that you can only do at the mechanic, like ABS brake bleeding. Some of the reset functions I haven’t used, but at least I know they exist. One slight learning curve was getting used to the menu, but now it’s second nature after playing around with it.
