Works great, quick & easy way to get a reliable Ethernet connection to an otherwise WiFi only device
This product arrived in a fairly generic looking white cardboard box with a diagram of the adapter printed onto the front alongside a generic name. Inside the box you get a compact adapter that does exactly what they state, which is providing a RJ45 connector & power to a Firestick via the Micro USB port. The two ports on the âhubâ itself work fine for both RJ45 and the Micro USB power pass-through and likewise the cable tethered to the hub is terminated with a good quality Micro USB that plugs into the firestick without issue.Not sure why another reviewer is implying that 100Mbps isnât suitable for anything over FHD(1080p), 15-25Mbps is the commonly recommended bandwidth required for a single stream of UHD(4K@60fps) content that is well optimised and some require as little as 5-10Mbps. Though it varies heavily based on the codec used for compression and the source, so around 35-40Mbps is more realistic for uninterrupted playback from practically any source, which is well within the limits of this adapter.The micro USB port on Fire TV devices would be hard limited to USB2.0 speeds anyway, so even if the adapter had gigabit speeds youâd only be able to utilise around half that, 480Mbps to be specific. So 100Mbps is perfectly fine considering a lot of people are probably going to be running Ethernet to this adapter via Powerline connections, which are often on the slower end anyway.Ultimately I can’t fault the product, it does what it sets out to do, the only comment I have is why would someone buy this generic third party adapter at £11.99 if you can get the official one for £12.99 at the moment? I guess I could see the appeal if the official one jumps up a bit in price, but as of right now itâs not priced well relative to the official one.

This is LAN adaptor for devices with micro USB port. I tried this on my fire TV stick.Things I liked:- it has a power (micro USB) pass through- metal casing (help dissipate any generated heat)- plug and playOverall, the ethernet is only 100Mbps (not the faster 1 Gbps)…. but still ok for streaming 1080p content.
