Great drop in replacement for failed Lorex system
My 8 camera Lorex system failed and I didn’t want to install new cameras so bought this having purchased some full HD Zosi cameras previously for the same system and being impressed, especially given the low price.It was very easy to get this up and running with the existing cameras – I haven’t used either of the 2 cameras this came with yet but will upgrade a couple of my 720p Lorex ones eventually.Lost 1 star as the PC software is a little awkward to use, especially playback, and crashes occasionally. Android app works ok.This is great value for money – you can add extra cameras later if you want and last time I bought one they were only 16 GBP each

Simple and straightforward
I’ve been thinking of getting CCTV for a while and finally decided to take a punt on this system, primarily as it was the cheapest I could find!Day 1, I was ready to be very disappointed, the mobile app kept crashing and had awful reviews, plus I managed to crash the recorder twice. After a quick scout around Zosi’s website, I applied the two firmware updates (copy files to a USB stick then reboot the recorder, very simple). Since then, I’ve had perfect stability. I will say that the PC tool still isn’t amazing, but its perfectly servicableThings you should know:Always-on recording for a single camera consumes approximately 15GB of hard disk space per 24 hours with the default settings. This means recordings for a 1TB disk which Zosi recommend would be deleted after approx. 60 days. This may vary with more cameras, I haven’t tried yet.The unit emits no noise its self, its all emitted by the hard disk you fit (or that is pre-fitted if you buy that version) – if you used a Solid State disk it would be silent .You need access to another screen to set it up. This needs HDMI or VGA input (an old PC monitor or your TV works)You can make the unit wireless by adding a Wireless Bridge (available on Amazon for about £15). The USB ports on the back of this unit provide power for the bridge. To set up the bridge, you require a computer (NOT a tablet) ideally with an ethernet port for testing.Anything reflective shines very brightly during night recording. My car is visible on-screen and the number plate is not readable it glows so brightlyYou require two mains plug sockets to operate this system, three if you want to power a screen nearby. One for the cameras, one for the DVR.

Beware no hard drive – customer service good
Bought this had to wait for someone to install. When they did found there was no hard drive and had to purchase separately which made this more expensive than I had envisaged and also delayed the installation. I re checked the advert but couldnât see âno hard driveâ. Had this of been made clear I would not have purchased this product. Due to this I am unable to give full reviews on night vision etc as the system is not up and running but felt people should be made aware of the issue I have. I also had issues with the power cable. Customer service were very communicative and we agreed a resolution.

Great value 8CH 2 Cameras CCTV system
I bought few Zosi CCTV kits over the years (for myself, family and friends) and found them very good value for money. Zosi does Amazon sales/promotions few times a month which can help you save even more. I bought Zosi 8CH H.265+ 2MP DVR Recorder with 2pcs 1080P Outdoor Cameras this time. Delivery was very fast and everything was very well packaged. Instructions were easy to follow and setup didn’t take long. Decent quality all around, images are clear both day and night. On top of that their customer support is very friendly and efficient. I’d couple of queries and Ariana from support was very helpful. I highly recommend Zosi CCTV kits to all.

Slow and unreliable
I installed this a few weeks ago and it’s great having a wired system.However, for some reason it just stops recording events after a few days, so I have to regularly switch it off and on to reset it.It’s also quite slow to start recording when it detects motion, so most of my recordings are of the moment just after a car went past the house.So I wouldn’t recommend this if you’re look for a fast, reliable system.

Great home security system.
Firstly, this unit came without a hard drive. I knew this from the sellers description so read it before buying. It takes 10 minutes max to install your own SATA drive. However, it will work without a hard drive but you won’t be able to record, but you can remotely live view etc.This is a great budget system. Up to 8 different cameras can be used. The user interface is simple and easy.Can be set up to act as an alarm, via app, if movement is detected.On a price vs features scale, I give it 10/10.
