All you really need is the app. Setup was effortless. No hub needed unless you wanna add a physical button/switch and possibly other addons to be placed somewhere in your home, which was a bonus since i didnโt need one. I can now operate the light in my loft without having to climb up, turn on light, climb back down, pick up the stuff i wanna store in the loft and climb back up. And in the rare event u forget to turn iff the light, i can simply access the app and turn it off. Another great feature is that it monitors the energy consumption, not necessary but helpful little feature to have if its something u care about. TPLINK (parent company) have always been reliable for me so i trust that this brand will be the same. Really handy smart plugs โ easy to use and very reliable
Iโve been using the Tapo P110 smart plugs for a few weeks now and theyโve been great. Setup was super simple using the Tapo app, and they connected to WiFi without any issues. I mostly use them to control lamps and a heater remotely, and the app makes it really convenient to switch things on and off from anywhere.The energy monitoring feature is a nice bonus โ it helps me keep track of electricity usage and see which devices are using the most power. My existing Kasa smart plug failed and so I bought the Tapo ones, pricing was good, the setup was nice and easy, setup the scheduled time functions which again is easy and itโs up and running nicely plus I like the fact I can monitor the energy consumption which is useful, very pleased with it, Tapo seem to be a good brand anyway so has my confidence.

BUYER BEWARE – COMPATIBILTY ISSUESDespite this being a UK Socketed product – it uses the US Version of the Hub to communicate.You will face compatibilty issues with some of the TAPO products. Nowhere is this written in the amazon page.TPLINK Support .. when they reply ( Support from the Middle east , where I am now based didnt reply for several weeks until I escalated it ) will eventully tell you to return the product to amazon which is great but doesnt fix the issue on their endSo it looks like TPLINK is selling US compatible products in the market ( They know this – even changing the plugs to UK ones ) with mixed compatilbity issues.
