Wow, it is definitely loud. If anyone’s worried about how loud it is I can put your mind at ease. It is LOUD. It’s simple and does what it’s supposed to and is very inexpensive. I tested it by shutting off the breaker and it went off immediately. Only time will tell about the reliability, but there are no moving parts, and I don’t intend to move it to a different location, so if it’s working now I don’t know what would make it stop working. I believe some people complained about lack of instructions but couldn’t be any simpler, the one part of it slides out where you put in a 9-volt battery. Inside you’ll see a plus and a minus..The only confusion may be that some folks didn’t know it used a 9-volt battery, but I noticed from other reviews that it did so I was ready and had no issues.

As others wrote, incredibly poorly made. Came broken, one of the battery terminals was unseated from where it should have been.Took it apart to try and fix it but no luck. Doesn’t work.
