A great game and the best looking game on Switch 2!
(Screenshots were taken on my own Switch 2)TLDR; itรขย€ย™s the best looking game on Switch 2 and even though it plays like many third person action adventure games, it does it VERY well and lets you explore the moral grey area, and stunning worlds, of Star Wars in a way that is both fascinating and very cool.Full review:Wow. Cyberpunk 2077 was seen as a miracle port, squeezing a vast, detailed world usually reserved for large systems and PCs on to a small tablet console. Star Wars Outlaws is even more impressive, with an even more stable framerate. It clearly looks more like a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X game than you could ever imagine possible on Nintendoรขย€ย™s little beast of a console. (See pictures attached)The game itself is a brilliant and refreshing take on the world of Star Wars. Usually focusing on the Jedi and the Sith, this game departs from that well tread path and lets you roam across the vast valleys, cities, the dense cosmic voids of space and the seedy underbellies that surround the often explored path of good vs evil and better yet, the game lets you revel in the grey area that exists between them.Wether you want to stealthily infiltrate an empire ship, go guns blazing on one of their planetary facilities, or get up to some dodgy dealings to grow reputation among one of the major gang factions, thereรขย€ย™s a lot of objectives that feel substantial and well crafted, and thatรขย€ย™s not accounting for the smaller, more intimate activities like the side quests, mini-games and many treasures to discover.Thereรขย€ย™s a satisfying amount of upgrades, customisation and ways for players to enjoy the game their own way makes for a very satisfying (if a little uninspired) game to play.Overall, Iรขย€ย™d say Star Wars Outlaws is a huge achievement for the Switch 2, and though it doesnรขย€ย™t try to break the mould with its third person action gameplay, it breaks the mould on what a Star Wars game can be and what kind of take it can tell.

    Fantastic Visuals and Immersive Story
Outlaws is one of the most immersive games I’ve played, and a fantastic representation of the Star Wars universe.Graphicaly it’s one of the most impressive games on the Switch 2 so far. Gameplay is fairly standard cover shooting, stealth(which is almost entirely optional) and traversal, with responsive controls that make encounters and exploring the world feel great.Accessibility options are really good, you can adjust aspects of the difficulty and even completely disable the mini-game puzzles if you want to. Controls options can be tweaked in detail, and motion control for aiming can be turned on and works really well. There are even some graphical options available too. The issues I ran into were fortunately few and far between, and didn’t cause me to lose any progress.I had a blast!

    Brilliant Switch 2 Showcase
Probably the best looking game on Switch 2. All of the RT GI and reflections are in place, the res is high and the game runs smoothly. A massive showcase for what the Switch 2 is actually capable of. Awesome game too, if you enjoy StarWars I highly recommend.

An enjoyable 30fps star wars game.
In my humble opinion, this game is very good on the Switch 2. I read many early reports about this game not running very well on the Switch 2, but this was no doubt based on an early pre-release version. Despite these initial negative reviews, I decided to give the game a chance and so pre-ordered it. I have only just started playing, so this is not an in depth review. Also, I’m not a hardened gamer and not always looking for absolute perfection, especially if I like the game itself. So this review may only help to give some idea of the game and how it runs. Firstly, the Switch 2 is far more graphically powerful than the Switch 1 but at the same time, being a handheld device with very low power requirements, it obviously has some limitations. If that is taken into consideration, along with the fact that we are still in the early days of the console’s lifespan, meaning developers will probably need more time to perfect game optimization to get the absolute best from this console, then I think Ubisoft’s developers have done a pretty good job with this version of the game. Therefore, we obviously can’t expect PS5 or XBOX series X graphics and performance, but that being said, I find on the whole, the graphics quite impressive. The game runs at a pretty steady 30fps which for me is fine. I’ve witnessed some very minor jittery moments but these have been in none action scenes, they don’t last long enough to impact on the game as a whole, and for the most part, the game just runs smoothly. These minor jitters may be corrected with updates and may not necessarily be the Switch 2’s problem, who knows. So this game may be the first to use the Switch 2’s ray-tracing capability, and despite some of the online hardened gamers criticising it, I actually think it’s good, bearing in mind what I said earlier about not expecting too much from a low powered hand held console. If you closely examine every few frames then no doubt will pick up on some graphic anomalies which maybe the compromises the developers had to make. That being said, when I’m being attacked by the enemy, running and ducking for cover, these little graphic imperfections really don’t have any impact on me. But this of course is a personal thing. So far, I have found both interior and exterior scenes to be highly detailed, plenty of other characters moving about, nice use of lighting and shadows, grass swaying in the wind, reflections in the water etc. So I would say this game is doing a pretty good job at showing what is possible on the Switch 2, and being early in the Switch 2’s lifespan, then could be an indication of what to expect in the future.

Fantastic graphical showcase for the Switch 2
This was really great as a technical showcase for the switch 2. The game really goes look fantastic when in handheld, but I was surprised how good it still looked when playing docked. I’d give the game itself an 8/10, but as a technical showcase I’d give a 10/10, sitting proudly next to cyberpunk. Also I’ve never had a problem with game key cards. I like how, if I choose, I can sell the game on still.
