How Much Space do You Really Need?
Because you can have as much rack space as you’d like. Well, that is, if you’d like to stack our racks. And as long as you don’t need more than 40U of space. Ok, ok, so there are some parameters. But long story short, Echogear skeleton racks are compatible with each other for stacking! 15U + 15U? Check. 15U + 20U? Check, check. 20U + 20U? Checkity, check, check.

J’ai acheté la version 15U il y’a un an, j’ai pris le temps de me forger une bonne opinion pendant ce temps. Pour une maison ça me semble être le choix idéal en termes de taille.Qualité de fabrication au top, acier bien épais et bien fini, laqué noir, sans défaut apparent. La structure permet quelques petites customisations : j’ai par exemple découpé un plateau en lamellé collé que j’ai installé sur le dessus pour y poser une imprimante et divers chargeurs pour téléphones / PC portables / Manettes de consoles. Les deux petites étagères flottantes fournies avec le rack sont très pratiques et tiennent du poids (sur l’une j’ai un NAS 4 baies et un onduleur 550VA posés dessus).Vraiment très content de mon achat, sachant qu’il me semble suffisamment grand pour se montrer évolutif et permettre d’installer un NAS, un petit homelab, un ou plusieurs switchs, un NVR pour vos caméras de surveillance, etc… Le seul point négatif que je pourrais souligner et le manque de vis de fixations pour le matériel réseau (17 seulement fournis avec le miens, soit 16+1 spare, ça me semble peu).

I have this installed on 16″ wood studs. Daughter assembled the rack for me while I was working on another part of the project, and she had no issues following instructions. I did give her a power screwdriver to speed the process with all the screws. I used a CyberPower Surge Protector at the top instead of the included support bracket to gain some extra room. I also cut a piece of plywood for the top, since it does not come with anything to make the top into a shelf.Part of my reason for purchasing was the included shelves. They are of good quality and I like the velcro straps and moveable shelf stops that come with this.While the sides have square holes for the better rack mounting bolts, I could find no way to turn the rack and still wall mount it, so I am just using the threaded holes and screws to mount a few devices.For my use, I have two amps, a receiver, a blu ray player on a shelf, and a few smaller items. If you are actually mounting devices to the rack, you will probably need more screws than come with this rack.This rack is very sturdy and has no issue with the heavy A/V equipment that I have in it. Once assembled and mounted to the wall, there is no flex in it. If I were just using for lighter networking equipment, I could get by with a less expensive and less sturdy rack.I would purchase again for my A/V needs. I am redoing my network room, and will probably purchase something less heavy duty, and less expensive. I don’t need this much depth for a home network rack (no deep server), but the depth worked well for my deeper amps and receiver with banana plug connections.
