The switch has wiring tails for âalways open âand âalways closedâ which is great. Switch seems substantial. Graphics are engraved and flooded so will not wear off as the surface printed ones

This switch is nicely finished in brushed stainless steel with no sharp edges. The engraved/recessed painted lettering will ensure that the lettering lasts. The big green button is hard to miss, useful if you’ve got dirty hands.A 30mm/1.25″ galvanised pattress is supplied for sinking into a wall. If you want surface mount, you’ll have to source your own suitable pattress, choosing a rounded corners one to match the switch front plate. Two 25mm/1″ pattress screws are also supplied.The supplied information leaflet is one of those which covers multiple variations of switch configurations. Matching the four tail colourss to the leaflet, I concluded that the switch supplied was a combination Push to Make/Normally Open or Push to Break/Normally Closed switch. Of some concern is the fact that the matching switch configuration on the leaflet states that the contacts are rated for ‘2Amp @ 12 & 24VDC’ – please see the red starred section on the leaflet picture. The switch description, however, claims 5A / 250V – I’m not sure what to believe but it’s not a problem for me as the switch will be switching 24V for a garage door opener. Just looking at the switch, I wouldn’t trust it for 5A/250V. The wires used for the tails are 300V rated, though – see pic..The switch including preattached tails projects ~40mm/1.5″ from the rear of the front plate, so you’ll need a deep pattress to not foul on the tails’ spade connectors. Careful bending of the spade terminals may enable you to just fit into a 35mm surface pattress. If using the supplied 30mm/1.25″ galvanised pattress, recessing the front edges of the pattress itself by about 10mm/0.5″ would give the tails room without having to bend the spade connectors.In summary, a good switch but information could be more consistent. Perhaps a bit pricey.
