Neat and Does Exactly What It Should
I ordered this to tidy up a network cable coming through the wall and it’s done the job nicely. It looks clean once fitted and blends in well with standard white sockets.Installation was straightforward if you’ve done any basic wiring before. The keystone jack clicks in securely and everything lined up as expected. Once connected, the Ethernet cable fits properly and feels solid with no wobble. The plastic feels sturdy enough and the finish is decent. For the price, it’s hard to complain.Overall, it’s a simple, well-made wall plate that does exactly what you need it to do. I would certainly recommend.

If you know where the wires go this is an excellent wall socket. Highly recommended.
Most important, if you don’t understand the wiring of ANY RJ45 wall socket then be very careful, it’s very easy to get one of the paired small wires wrong. I’ve shown in one photo the wiring layout from this products listing for information.Though sold as a “CAT6 Ethernet wall socket” it can accept other grades of CAT cable, in one of my photo’s I’ve shown it’s components with a CAT 7 cable. It’s a plain but nicely smooth finish and it fits well into any single wall box. For installations where a more complex network is being used the faceplate does has a small window for identification which is a nice touch, even the securing tie is included too.Well made and excellent value for money.

    Does the job
This is a decent-looking reasonably priced Ethernet socket. The connections are clearly labelled with both A and B schemes. The strain relief on the cable is a bit poor, being a flimsy plastic tag at the top of the socket to which you need to cable-tie the incoming cable, and this means the cable has to enter from the top (or thread all the way around the socket).Does the job.

    works for Cat6 installation
I’ve used this in my recently rewired house, which I wired for ethernet. Overall this offers performance that as far as I can tell is identical to the named brand ones. I have connected shielded cat 6 to it, although there is nowhere to connect the shielding. Punching it down was done by a professional who reported no issues. The keystone design means that you can use it with other keystones if you need, not just Cat6, which may be helpful for some people. The keystone is a tight fit and was a little tricky to get in, but this doesn’t make a large difference to how easy it is to install. The design allowing the cable to be held in place is useful, but you may need to adapt it for narrow British wall boxes. The design is very clearly labelled, showing you exactly where to punch each bit down to. Absolutely no problem pushing 2.5 Base T through it. I haven’t been able to test higher. Overall this is a solid basic and flexible design at a good price. This is good value for money and I’d be happy to recommend.

Good, but pay close attention to the markings.
I’ve finally got around to fitting a faceplate to an out of sight backbox that has had a cable coming out of it for years with no plate. This has worked well for the task, and having a Keystone jack, cabling was easy. There’s been no speed issue attributable to the jack. The markings for both T568A and B are clear. However, there is potential to make a mistake as not all jacks wire in the same way, and the mapping of slots to pins was different for this than others I’ve used. Following the markings and not past experience and all should be good.

Cheap plastic connector with poor strain relief
The plastic cable strain relief is awful. One of mine snapped off easily and it’s irreparable. It’s poor design overall for strain relief. Secondly, the plastic cap that surrounds the cable and closes the back of the connection doesn’t snap in place so it’s pointless really.I had to have several attempts at punching down wires re-stripping the cable each time for a fresh cable end to get it to connect successfully and given the cable is literally just hanging out the back of the connector, I’m not confident that it’ll last long and stay in place. Overall, I think the connection “system” is poor but the rest of it seems ok. Just remember you’re buying a cheap plastic connector. There’s also no instructions in the packet so I had to rely on the website to work out what the plastic tag even did. Overall wouldn’t recommend.

RJ/45 Cat 6 ethernet wall socket
After some attention by rats, my Ethernet cable to the shed needed some work.I had enough spare cable to remove the damaged section but that meant I had to reposition the wall socket.Quite some time since I’ve wired one up so I had to do some research. The inside of the socket has colours representing those in the Ethernet cable, it is not immediately obvious what they represent. There are 2 standards in use T568A and T568BThe most common is T568B, the easy ID is the position of the green/green white wires. If G/GW are together (look at your Ethernet cable) then it is 568AIf G/GW straddle B/BW it is 568BThe socket has both standards, look in the middle you will see A & BThe boxes with the colours have a pin number.Take top left as the example, it has No1 & No2 with Green and Orange on top White underneath. For configuration 568B look above BPin 1 is Orange/White, Pin 2 is Orange. When the pin number is in the White area it is White + the Top colourFor 568A pin 1 would be Green/White.As the little furry chap says “Simples”You will need a punch down tool to fix the wires into the “V” grove connectors. The tie sticking out the bottom is secure the cabel with a cable tieStandard white wall fitting Ethernet socket
