My TOPDON Story – Richie Bates
When I grew up, I bought an old car for £40. After some tinkering, the car was given a new lease on life and successfully hit the road again. While repairing it, I also picked up many car repair tips and skills along the way. As an experienced driver, I have a 26-year record with zero traffic accidents.
Rejected but Undeterred
Every time I see a sports car zoom by, I dream of driving on a racetrack. But when I contacted tracks for a chance, I was rejected. I also went to many repair shops seeking work, but was always turned away for safety reasons. With no choice, I started working for myself. Though an amateur, I enjoy it—I love helping others.

More than your moneys worth!
I purchased this product as Iâve always got the cheaper versions and found it was time to invest. Usually I would look towards bigger brands but after my research I realised that wasnât necessary. This device does everything If not more than itâs competitors. Constant updating and more features being uploaded to give you more for your money.The system is quick and efficient and does not let you down. After using a cheap one this doesnât even compare. Full vehicle Heath check. Codes explained clearly and easy to use. Ideal for personal or professional business use.Overall a great diagnostic machine and I can only see it improving as they develop more for it!

Great diag machine
Good bit of kit.Had it a while now and itâs paid for itself already.Tested and replaced a NOx sensor.Tested and replaced an AdBlue injector.Done a service myself and reset the service light.All would have needed trips to a garage otherwise and would have cost loads.Not hard to use with basic understanding, but YouTube is there if youâre not sure.

Advanced features fast performance and huge coverage missing adapters let it down
Used the Topdon Artidiag Pro and it has performed reliably across multiple uses. It connects very quickly and has a wide range of features covering pretty much all aspects of diagnostic work.The unit is fast in general thanks to the direct connection with no Bluetooth lag and live data updates are quick and responsive.Battery life is great and it also charges via the OBD port while in use which is a really useful feature.The interface is very intuitive and easy to use even when navigating more advanced functions. The screen share feature is also a standout addition making remote assistance straightforward if needed.The bi directional functions make testing and fault finding much easier and it has been great for programming in new sensors and carrying out more advanced diagnostics.It also supports hybrid and high voltage battery functions as well as IM readiness checks which adds even more versatility.Vehicle coverage is very wide and even includes brands like Ferrari. There is no Tesla support which is understandable given how specific those systems are but worth noting as there are more of them on the road now.It comes with two years of free software updates. After that it is over two hundred pounds a year but it is not strictly necessary to renew as all previously downloaded software continues to work.Build quality feels very solid. The unit itself is sturdy and the case is tough enough that it feels like it could take a knock without any issues.One downside is that although it appears to be a newer version than advertised which is a positive it did not include the twelve plus eight adapters as listed. For that reason I have knocked off one star as it is not quite as described.Overall a very capable fast and easy to use diagnostic tool with a huge range of features just slightly let down by missing accessories.Overall good value for money as has many garage level features for a lower cost. Aimed at the enthusiast to professional as is a mid entry price point.Resets a large variety of service issues as well as performs functions such as force DPF cleaning.

A great piece of kit for any home mechanic
After using bluetooth obd readers for years, I have been looking at upgrading to a stand alone bi directional machine for years and I’m glad I did! First off it picks up codes from vehicles that have never worked with bluetooth/phone diagnostics such as my vw t5 4motion. Being able to reset service lights after oil change has been nice as a couple of my vehicles will not reset using a sequence in the car. The biggest advantage is the Bi directional control. You can use it to check actuators etc as well as replace certain modules which need recoding.Where most phone based readers will only read engine fault codes, this will read all modules on the vehicle.Another feature which has come in great help when diagnosing a running issue with my Impreza was the data logging. As I wasn’t sure if it was the maf, lambda or vacuum leak causing the high fuel trims, having it log a couple of drives managed to eliminate sensor issues (as the high and low values were correct looking at other factors such as throttle position etc) without replacing parts and hoping for the bestAfter owning this just over a week, I feel I’ve only scraped the surface on what this is capable ofIt comes in a decent case with adaptors for other vehicles. The tablet seems very well built with a rubberised case which seems like it would help in a workshop environment.

Great product but broke after 3 uses
The product itself is really good in terms of functionality and for the price would be a 5* review. Aside from the bidirectional controls what I really like is the workshop instructions for how to perform a repair or task when there is not a digital option for performing maintenance.However after 3 uses one of the pins snapped off the port for the obd2 connection rendering the device useless.I have contacted topdon support and if they address the defective item to the same standards that they have built the software I’ll update this review accordingly.

Nice size and easy to handle. Instruction are quite easy to folow and understand. Battery lasts a good while without running out. Nice, easy to read and follow display. Up grades are quick and fairly frequent. Plenty of service items to reset and calibrate and relearns. Easy to use and very compact. Loads of different manufacturers to connect to. Worth the investment for DIY and professional users. You can actuate some components on the vehicles to test if they are operating correctly. All in all a good reasonably priced tool with great features

Funciona muy bien, con algunos modelos antiguos hay que seleccionar a mano para poder por ejemplo codificar los inyectores ya que desde el panel principal no conecta pero manualmente va perfecto la verdad que para llegar a sacarle todo el partido hay que usarlo mucho y en muchos modelos de coches
