Great audio & comms without sacrificing awareness on the road
Took a couple of minutes to connect to Bluetooth, but once it paired, the Aleck Punks worked great. The spatial awareness is a huge plusâmuch better than inner ear headphones, and I felt a lot safer being able to hear my surroundings while riding.I could still enjoy my music clearly even at 40km/h, and the comms worked well around 35km/h. My husband said it sounded a bit crackly on his end, but I could hear him clearly.Overall, itâs a really cool and easy-to-use device. Great for anyone who wants solid audio and communication without sacrificing awareness on the road.

My wife and I tried these Aleck Punks after we had some trouble getting the similar Sena PI comms to work with our iPhones. The Aleck Punks use a unique technology where they connect through the internet like an internet telephone call. The Sena PI use a Bluetooth connection. The Punks have “unlimited range”, as long as you have cell service. The Sena PI have a range of about 400 yards (400 meters). We only were interested in the comms feature, that is to talk between two riders. We don’t care about listening to music or answering a cell phone. At the time we tried the Punks (December 2023, the Post-To-Talk feature was not yet available. Only the Party feature could be used.The Punks mount easily to the helmet strap and I was able to actuate the button while riding even while wearing heavy winter gloves. Because there are two separate earpieces, they must connect by Bluetooth separately. They must also charge with a special double-ended cable.You must connect the Aleck Punks headset to your phone and your phone must have a cellular connection. We found the Punks worked intermittently. We had a continuous cell service, but the bluetooth connection between the cell phone and headset seemed wonky. Sometimes only one of the two earpieces had sound. We had a decent connection for the first few miles of riding our bikes. The sound was reasonably clear. We did have wind noise at times. However, due to sending the voice signal through the internet there is a very noticeable delay in transmission. It takes a second or two from speaking until reception by the other party on the second headset. This is not a big problem, but you must wait several seconds for the signal to send and then for a response when you are talking. Upon turning around on our bike ride, we turned the Punks off and back on. We were trying to get sound to come out of both earpieces. When reconnected, the sound became very scratchy and impossible to understand. We could not get a good connection again on that ride. We returned the Aleck Punks and they were just too unreliable.

A date je suis très satisfait, synchronisation avec le cell très simple, pour écouter de la musique c’est parfait ou la radio c’est parfait, je n’est pas essayer le mode communication.

Das Headset kommt in ansprechender Verpackung und fühlt sich ziemlich wertig an. Die Inbetriebnahme scheitert jedoch trotz intensivster Bemühungen an der englischen, sehr knappen Bedienungsanleitung. Die LEDs leuchten in verschiedenen Farben und blinken- nicht bekannt, was das zu bedeuten hat. Das Pairing mit dem Smartphone funktionierte nicht, keine Ahnung warum. Ich wusste zum Schluss nicht, ob das Set kaputt geliefert worden, oder wegen Ratlosigkeit nicht funktionierte, zumal die Verpackungen offenbar schon mal geöffnet worden waren. Dazu kommt, dass die Aleck-App furchtbar designiert ist und kaum Hilfe bot. Ich habe die beiden Sets schlieÃlich zurückgeschickt.

Got for my dad for his e-bike!! Im a tech geek. Sound is great!!!! Easy controls, great price! Great noise reduction. I was on phone w my dad and had no idea he was on bike on windy day. It was such clear audio I thought he was sitting in his den. Worth the price!!!
