Simple to use and does the job perfectly
I needed this device for a Japanese imported car which does not accept the usual ODB 2 system, instead needing JODB.The scanner worked without any issues whatsoever, quickly and easily showing all relevant information. I was also pleased that it not only showed what the fault code was, but also explained what the code means (which another device I have does not use). I now use this device for my Volvo as well as the Japanese car as it is not limited to JODB.The scanner is nice and rugged with rugged grips, so no fears of it being damaged.

Basic code reader, does its job
I bought this Ancel JP700 purely on the basis it is optimised for Japanese vehicles. I own a 2016 Suzuki Vitara 1.6. I have no problems with the car, but I just wanted a piece of kit to check there was nothing lurking in the background I was unaware of.On receipt, I opened up the package and plugged the supplied USB data transfer wire into the bottom of the unit. I then went onto the Ancel website and to the downloads link to get the latest library update. I downloaded the .rar file to my laptop running Windows 10 and extracted the file. I plugged the code reader into my laptop USB port and the code reader lit up. The screen remained blank until I opened up the application file and immediately it began updating the Ancel JP700 to the latest update. Once complete, I unplugged the unit and took it out to my car.I started up the car and plugged the code reader into the OBDII port and the code reader lit up. I entered the set up menu and selected Suzuki. Basically, I just used my common sense and flicked through the buttons. The unit does come with instructions but it is intuitive enough, so much so, I mastered it in a mere minute or so. I’m no expert or rocket scientist, it really isn’t difficult navigating through this code reader due to its basic operation.Bottom line is, I didn’t find any trouble codes at all, which is exactly what I had hoped for. I saw information that I wouldn’t ordinarily have the opportunity to view. I’ll keep it in the car for future use. It’s a basic bit of kit that works which is all I wanted out of it. The price wasn’t too bad either, especially with an extra 10 percent off when I bought it and it was considerably cheaper buying from Amazon than elsewhere.

Invaluable device for JDM JOBD cars.
Excellent tool for vehicles using the JOBD protocol rather than OBDII. This device connects and chats with JDM Nissan Cube Z11, JDM Toyota MR-S and JDM Toyota Crown Athlete. Using a regular old OBDII scanner just throws up a âno connectionâ or âerrorâ but this just does the job.On Nissans if you experience a fault code (in the pic itâs a P0335 crank angle sensor on a Z11 Cube) you can fix the problem and clear the code but 9/10 the car will still show the same error code after. This is because you need to remove the battery , and not just for 10 mins like on a Toyota, but overnight. The ECU seems to hold onto codes even though they have been rectified and cleared unless the battery is pulled overnight.

You’ve probably come to the 1 star reviews to read all the negative things before you buy (i did the same). Most of the 4/5 star reviews say it’s the best thing ever, and most of the 1 star reviews say it just doesn’t work at all. THIS PRODUCT IS AMAZING. However, there is a lack of info on this amazon listing and in the instructions that come with the product. Basically, the product won’t work if you don’t update the software before use. Simply plug in the USB-C to the device and the USB end into your laptop. Google ANCEL and go to their official site. Go to the devices tab and find the device you bought. There will be a user manual for you to download but also a software update𤩠download it (it’s a .rar file so you’ll need to download winrar (free softwear) to unzip the file.) Open the read me file, read the instructions and go from there. None of this info is stated on this amazon listing and the manual that comes with the product is a generalised manual for all their products. I hope this helps anyone that had the same initial issue of it not working that I did. Only rating this product 1 star so people see this info before they’re detered from buying. I rate this product 4.5 stars.

Money Saver!
Brilliantly simple, easy to use and affordable. My Subaru Forester has a common engine management fault. The secondary air inlet valve has seized but this does not affect the running of the engine or emissions at all. But with the engine light on, the cruise control flashes and cant be used and the same happens with the traction control light.This simple gadget resets everything to normal. Saves money on diagnostics and an expensive unnecessary repair.

Bought to use on a Japanese import car
I’ve always had these devices for my vag cars. But my import car uses jobd so bought this. It does connect up and confirmed there’s no faults on the ECU. But that meant I couldn’t check any more features of this. But the fact it connects should mean it works as described.

This is a great way to see the codes for a check engine light. You can also use obd2 and the live stream function for realtime feedback of certain sesors, like EVAP purge valve and Fuel Tank Pressure sensor and a lot more. You can use the IM function to see if the vehicle is inspection ready.

Ben fatto ma non compatibile con il mio Mitsubishi Pajero Sport del 2002 ( e immagino con tutte le auto Mitsubishi dell’epoca). Se il produttore pubblicasse una lista delle auto compatibile forse si eviterebbero acquisti e resi inutili.

Works great with my jdm car. I couldn’t find a scanner that would scan my toyota altezza however I saw this one recommended on a forum and it worked great, was able to scan and also clear the check engine light. Highly recommended if you own a jdm car in North America
