OVERVIEW | Highlights

Make Any Stereo System Wireless
The advent of digital music has transformed the way we listen to music today. bluMeHD has been designed to connect your aging amplifier, a long-forgotten receiver or powered speakers to the ever expanding world of streaming audio and Internet radio. The bluMe HD Hi-Fi Bluetooth Music Receiver allows you to seamlessly stream stunning wireless music from your smart device to any stereo music system, making your favorite components sounding better than the day you brought them home.

Unlimited Streaming
bluMe HD can play any audio source a Bluetooth enabled device can access, opening up a virtually unlimited universe of music to enjoy through your Hi-Fi audio system. So you’re always in control not just of the music that’s stored on your device but also access premium high-res music services like Tidal, Spotify Qobuz and Pandora, internet radio stations, podcasts and even music libraries connected to a wireless home network…all instantly, wirelessly in Hi-Fi quality.

Sounds Better Than Wired
Vast majority of us tend to hard wire our smart devices to an audio system by either using a dock that pulls analog out of the device or by hooking up to the headphone output jack. In both cases the digital signal is processed by cheap low fidelity DAC used in all smart devices. With bluMe HD the digital signal is processed by its high-end DAC and high-definition audio decoders. No wonder bluMe HD sounds better than wired hookups!

Andrew Dunning –
Excellent product
Easy to set up and feels really solid in its metal case. Sound is very good and surprisingly bassy through my ancient hi-fi. I had tried a cheapy plastic one which I struggled to connect but this was definitely worth the extra money.

Truly HiFi quality
The bluMe HD gives a full stereo HiFi experience when connected to the CD input of my NAD 3240PE amplifier. Using Spotify I can now listen to anything I fancy with the full frequency range that you would expect from a CD. Once again I have full stereo separation having previously used a small Bose Bluetooth portable speaker where left and right speakers are six inches apart. This product is top end high quality and comes with a phono to phono and a phono to 3.5mm cable. The Bluetooth connection is rock solid and I could not be more satisfied with my purchase.
Alex –
Excellent sound quality and Bluetooth connection
The sound is crisp and clean, probably the best Bluetooth receiver I have tried. If youâve got good speakers and a good amp, you will be able to tell the difference between this and the cheap ones. The build quality is really good and the range is really good too.

Simple to connect
Needed to connect to ‘old’ amp. This does the trick wonderfully – simple to set-up, connected first time, quality seems sufficient for my needs – when would-up loud on an ageing system, no distortion can be heard, success.

A great reciever
This is in use in a church providing us with the ability to link devices into the PA system with Bluetooth and it works extremely well. Moving the linked device some 3 metres away and even in a different room didnât seem to affect the pickup and quality. Shutting the paired device down for an hour then turning it back on resulted in reconnection within about 5 seconds. We found it frustrating trying to force it to pair with a new device by pressing the on/off button – too short a press and re-pairing didnât occur, too long a press and it broadcast âturning offâ over the churchâs PA system – that will resolve with experience. All in all, a brilliant bit of kit, well worth its cost. We are delighted with it

Sceptical but truly amazed ð
Initially sceptical but now amazed.I have fairly expensive HiFi separates, albeit over 20 years old. A majority of my songs are now played through Spotify using my Amazon echo, with very limited acoustics.Contemplated upgrading my integrated amplifier to a £400 Denon PMA 600 but saw this Bluetooth adapter to convert my Yamaha DSP, (which cost £500 in 2004, so I didnât really want to abandon using it completely).Didnât think that the Bluetooth would be anywhere near as good as a direct source from the CD or vinyl, but the sound quality feeding through my amp and Bose speakers using the Bluetooth was outstanding. Admittedly, you donât get the depth and precision compared to a Linn LP12, but you wonât be disappointed. If anybody wants to convert an old stereo integrated amp into a Bluetooth receiver, I strongly recommend this little piece of kit.Enjoyâ¦.

Solid Connectivity
I’ve been using an Amazon purchased UGreen receiver on my fairly high-end hifi, which although had reasonable sound quality, suffered from intermittent stuttering in playback from my devices – even well within range. It took me a while to shell out for an upgrade â a year in fact, as this new Auris is significantly more expensive. However, it has so far performed absolutely flawlessly. The sound fidelity isn’t noticeably enhanced from the cheaper one, although I haven’t done an A/B comparison. But the most important thing to me is that the audio stream is now rock solid. Range is also much improved. I couldn’t go into the next room with the UGreen, but the Auris is currently ticking along happily about 10 metres away, through two brick walls. Recommended.

Optical output boosts bass and cuts treble
This Bluetooth receiver deserves zero stars. I bought this to replace an older aptX HD receiver that started to periodically fail. This Auris receiver has a weird DSP, or maybe a weird filter, that augments the optical digital output with aptX , aptX HD and LDAC. The Auris significantly boosts the bass so it’s boomy and unnatural and slices the treble right off. I would say there’s a huge treble cut starting at around 6khz, so cymbals, high hats, snares, etc are severely muted. Male voices sound bloated and boxy. I’ve been streaming via Bluetooth for years and it should sound 98% as good as a wired connection. The Auris sounds like there are pillows covering my speakers.I only used the optical output, so I can’t comment on the internal DAC, but if the internal DAC is decoding the same weirdly altered PCM signal, then it should also sound bad.I also noticed that the Auris model I received was an updated version of the one pictured and described on the listing. Mine had a USB-C power socket (instead of a Micro USB) and it also decoded LDAC (instead of only, SBC, aptX and aptX HD, like described). Here’s the system I used the Auris on: Benchmark DAC3, Cyrus Stereo 200 amplifier, Monitor Audio Silver bookshelf speakers, and a REL subwoofer. If you want a Bluetooth receiver that sends a pure digital signal to your DAC, please look elsewhere.
