Just what I needed!
Perfect WiFi switch! Itรขยยs the 3rd one Iรขยยve brought from the same brand and it works great. It doesnรขยยt take long to setup and works as you would expect. You can also use Siri and automation to control the switch. Well worth it and definitely will be buying more in the future.

Easy to use
Used to light up the garden via an internal plug and socket. Easy to use and set up and Alexa finds it after plugging the smart socket and setting up on BG Home app.Highly recommended as i have 6 of these smart plugs and have had no issues in 5 years of using them.

Internet Controlled Socket
This is a socket for switching remotely from anywhere via a smart phone App, and can also be configured for random switching or a repeat schedule. As mentioned in many reviews it works with 2.4G wifi only, and it is configured vi a the App on the smartphone. It’s imperative that the phone is connected to the local 2.4G network, and not the 5G network. Not a problem in my case as my networks are configured for different SSID’s. If you have the same SSID for your 2.4G and 5G networks it’s probably worth temporarily disabling the 5G network in your router settings during configuration.I have five of these sockets which are connected to three different 2.4G wireless networks. Although on different networks, all devices are visible and controlled from within the App which is great. The three networks are the house wifi, garden wifi, and a portable mifi unit on a 4G phone network. It’s great that units connect directly to the routers without requiring any form of hub as some other systems. All my sockets are configured as ‘masters’ so work independently. It’s possible to have a socket connected via a master which can extend the distance of the slave socket from the wifi router, however I haven’t experimented with this.I did find that sometimes I connected first time without a problem, but on other times it failed. Although the wifi signals were excellent I did find it better to be near the transmitters during configuration. I also had a situation with one unit where it wouldn’t complete the configuration until I changed the name of the unit. I sometimes found that patience was required, however it’s worth persevering.

I purchased two of these BG plugs to control two table lamps. They appear to be well made and the BG home app downloaded easily from the Apple App Store.The reason I have given the product a low rating, is it took me a little while connecting the plugs over WiFi through the BG app downloaded on my IPhone. Some months on trying to reset the time was a real pain and couldnรขยยt get plugs to cooperate so now struggling to get two set up againInitially trying a few times to connect direct to my home WiFi I then followed the รขยยmanual set-upรขยย guide.First you connect to the plugs WiFi network (BG Home xxx) on your phone and then following the steps in the app you connect the plug to your home WiFi e.g. BT. After a couple of attempts this eventually worked.The key is to ensure the correct LED light colour/frequency is enabled as part of the set up, as they signify the plugs WiFi status, I.e connecting straight away to your home WiFi e.g BT, quick red flashing LED or intermittent slower flash when first connecting to the local plug WiFi (BG Home xxx) if direct connection fails to work.The plugs are set to work on 2.4Ghz WiFi band so I temporarily switched off my 5.0Ghz during set up just in case it was confusing the signal. If you religiously follow the instructions you should be ok. I also feel the timer menus in the app werenรขยยt as clear and simple to initially use as some other timers I have used. Overall seem to perform fine once set up.

Great Value For Money
I’ve got smart plugs from quite a few manufacturers, some are lacking, some are good and some stand out from the rest, these do stand out, great value, reliable, excellent WiFi range and very easy to setup on the app. Probably will only buy these from now on.

Very difficult to set up
I bought this Smart Plug just to use as a timer. I decided to buy this one as it was the one with the highest score on Which. Which said it was very easy to set up, not so in my case hence the 3 star rating. According to the instructions you can press the button on the plug and it will connect to your wi-fi, not so for me. The instructions suggested that if it didn’t connect then you should go into your router settings and temporally turn off the 5gh part of your router then connect the smart plug !!!!!! I didn’t have a clue how to do this and I’ve never had to do this before on the smart plugs I already have. The instructions also say you can set it up manually, to do this you have to set a different flashing light sequence on the plug but the instructions do not tell you how to do this. I was on the verge of sending it back when I managed to get the correct light sequence on the plug so managed to connect it to my wi-fi. I didn’t think the menus for setting up the timer were that good and no mention is made of how to connect to Alexa at all. Avoid !!

Disappointed with these!
Bought 2 of these a few months ago and they worked brilliantly UNTIL getting the dreaded request to upgrade the App. Since then, I cannot reset the timers because they need re installing and WILL NOT connect to the network. This company needs to get their act together with this problem because Iรขยยve read that other people have had the same issues!These will now be flung because I do NOT have the patience or ability to faff about re installing them.Do NOT waste your money buying these: they only function until an App upgrade is requested. Iรขยยm furious about wasting my money on these.
