It isn’t helpful to have the ports and the LEDs on the same side
This review is for the Binardat 10 Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch, 8 Ports 100/1000Mbps, 2 Gigabit Uplink, Support Vlan, Metal Case Unmanaged Plug and Play (10x1G)£24.99 at the time of review.This VLAN switch worked well in my setup and the price is certainly very good. Everything worked as it is supposed to, but I can’t speak about its durability or longevity.It is all-metal with no rubber feet or anything to avoid scratches on a desk, and it has mounting holes which is normal for a device like this.My biggest negative is that this switch isn’t very helpful for sitting on a desk and is more designed for a cabinet, out of the way. I say this because all of the ports and lights are on the same side of the switch. This means that to see if a port is active with a lit up LED, the cable has to come out the same side, facing you, and then bend around or over the switch to get to the back to get to your device. Or you have cables trailing over the front of your desk.I have another switch in use every day, which has the LEDs on one side (facing me) and the power socket and ports are on the rear which lets the cables dangle down the back of my desk and into my devices. This sort of layout is ideal for home or small office use, so I find the port layout on this VLAN switch, although common, to be much less useful. You could always turn the switch the other way around but then you couldn’t see the LEDs.Nice switch that could be improved, so 3 stars at the moment.

It works and is cheap

情報分電盤にある既存8ポートスイッチ（TP-LINK製）のLANポート不足で、10ポート程度のスイッチを探していたところ当該品が見つかりました。利用イメージは8ポートは各端末用、1～2ポートをアップリンク用で。探すうえでの条件は①コンパクトであること（情報分電盤内の設置スペースがあまりなかったため）、②全てのポートが通常のLAN用（PoEポートは不要）、③PSE認証取得品であること。探した範囲では10ポート程度のスイッチはPoEスイッチが多く（8ポートがPoE、残り2ポートがアップリンク用）通常のスイッチでアップリンクを持つ製品がなかなか見つからなかったところ、この製品が見つかりました。気持ち的にはこれまでTP-LINK製品を多く使っていたので同メーカ品探しましたがなかったので残念。今回、あまり聞いたことが無いメーカ品でしたが価格も手ごろだったので思い切って購入しました。結果、想像以上の作り・コンパクトでPSE認証取得品だったので非常に満足しています。あとは耐久性が分からないので★4つとさせて頂きましたが、気持ち的には★5つに近いです！今回購入したメーカは、造りがしっかりしている感じなので、今後の機器選定時に参考にしたいと思っています。それにしてもTP-LINKといい、中国メーカー品は恐るべし！
