At last no more flicker!
My previous dimmer switch caused the bulb to flicker at low levels. No problem now Ive fitted this replacement!

Quiet, flicker-free dimming
I finally got round to swapping the dimmer in my daughter’s bedroom after the old one started playing up. It was at that stage where the lights would randomly flicker or just refuse to turn on unless you hit the switch with exactly the right amount of pressure, which isn’t ideal when you’re trying to get a 3-year-old to settle down for the night.Installation was straight forward, just a case of swapping over the wires after turning off the circuit breaker first – it’s certainly not worth giving yourself a shock!The best thing about this particular switch is the physical “click” to turn it off. Iâve had dimmers before where you have to rotate the dial all the way to the left to kill the power, which is a bit of a faff. With this one, you just set your preferred brightness and push the button to turn it on or off. It means I can leave it on a low, warm glow for her bedtime stories and not have to recalibrate the light level every single night.The fit is quite a bit slimmer than the previous dimmer switch and it looks great, nice and white which matches the other socket faceplates in the room.It also plays really nicely with the LED bulbs Iâve put in. There is no buzzing or strobing, even when dimmed right down to the lowest setting. It feels solid and well-made, certainly better than the budget one it replaced. Itâs a small change, but itâs made the bedtime routine a lot smoother without me standing there fiddling with a temperamental dial for five minutes.
