Netgear 2.5Gb unmanaged switch first use.
Networks and PC nics are getting faster and 2.5Gb is the new standard. My internet is now 1.2Gbps so I needed a faster switch and this fits the bill perfectly. Plug it in, turn it on and it just works.

I wanted a 2.5 gbps network switch to implement more devices to an RJ45…
I wanted a 2.5GB network switch to implement more devices to the internet, from a fibre optic internet service provider. The five ports in this model from Netgear suits my needs just fine in my domestic setting.Should I ever need more RJ45 ethernet connections, this netgear 2.5 GB switch will cope !Two ports are being used for PC’s, and one for the incoming router for a wired ethernet service. Leaving me two spare RJ45 ports. All in all, a good piece of kit from a respected manufacturer.Netgear also does 2.5 GB network switches with many more RJ45 ports… You don’t have to only settle for five ports like me ! And as for varying ethernet speeds, well, Netgear takes care of that matter as well with a sterling line-up of different ethernet speed switches too !But for my needs, and wired ethernet speed for now, this will do just fine !Brilliant delivery from Amazon Prime who also sold me this – bought from Amazon, fulfilled by Amazon, delivered by Amazon ! ( Thanks ! ).5 stars !

Definite Speed Increase File Transfer
Used to connect my Synology NAS to my PC, certainly saw an increased speed for file transfers and backup. Only runs warm to the touch. Good value.

Perfect for Powering PTZ POE++ cameras
Needed a way to power multiple POE++ devices, Panasonic PTZ cameras e.g. AW-UE100 AW-UE150 Web interface is simple and also not needed for basic plug and play setup. Power supply is large but has decent cable length and is needed to provide a large amount of power to all the POE++ devices we need to power.

Plenty of PoE for WiFi APs
Good switch for pairing with multi gig APs using PoE. Can get away with using Cat5e now for 2.5g which is a major plus. The power supply does whine a bit under load though, so if it’s not tucked away, you will hear it

Poor performance.
Found it to be laggy and performed worse compared to a gigabit switch it was replacing. Ended up putting that back in and now stuck with it as itâs past my return window.

Using the MS108EUP as the centerpiece of my (now 2.5 Gbps) home network. It replaces an older 8-port NETGEAR switch that did a good job for over 10 years. PoE works fine – powering my WiFi access points.Recommended if you are looking for a managed switch with higher port speed and throughput.
