This is a great piece of kit. Does what it promises to do and is easy to use too. Usedit on my Peugeot, and it found thing that othe machines didn’t show. So I’m really impressed with it. Especially for the price.

Easy to use large screen usb-c rechargeable tablet odb2 scanner with 1.2m cable
Thinkcarâs OBD2 662 Car Scanner is a step ahead of phone-based scanners. The kit includes the tablet and a connecting the 1.2m long cable that plugs into the cars port. The tablet charges via its USB-C connector â this is deeply recessed so you need a thin cable (or keep the one it ships with handy.You will need to recharge it as the tablet does drain its battery when not in use. I went away for a week for work whilst testing and the unit was fully drained when I came back. The software interface is easy to use; once you have it powered on, as with everything it has updates â and you can download packs for specific cars.The tablet makes it easy to plug in and review output. My car is new so didnât pull any errors but plugged into a colleagueâs car we could review the error codes and clear them. It is a bit of a pain connecting the tablet to the port; it would be useful if the cable were around 50cm longer.It would be nice if the tablet came with a bag to protect the screen as it does look and feel like a good piece of equipment. The ease of downloading manufacturer packs and updates should keep it running into the future. If you are a mechanic and looking to use one just remember to plug it in to keep the battery going.

What a brilliant piece of kit, paid for itself straight away by diagnosing a faulty wheel speed sensor and then clearing the code after me changing the part out, great value I paid around £160-£170 I think its worth the little extra over those little Bluetooth OBD scanners not only does the system and buttons work great but I don’t have to download a dodgy app to my phone and create an account/sign in to anything, great bit of kit and I’ll be recommending this to everyone ð ð

Saved me a fortune in garage fees
Picked this up because the dreaded engine management light popped up on my dashboard and I didn’t fancy paying the local garage just to plug their machine in. I wanted something a bit more advanced than the cheap dongles so I could actually fix the problem myself.Pros:Lifetime free updates is the big one for me. Most of these scanners charge you a subscription after the first year, but this one doesn’t cost a penny extra to keep up to date.The 12 reset functions are brilliant. I managed to reset the oil service light and the electronic parking brake on the wife’s car without any drama.It covers the big four systems (Engine, ABS, Airbag, Transmission). It diagnosed a dodgy wheel speed sensor for me straight away.Build quality feels proper tough. It has these rubber corners so if it slips out of your hand onto the concrete, it bounces rather than breaks.The screen works well enough but honestly, having actual clicky buttons is a lifesaver when your fingers are covered in oil and muck.Active testing is a bonus at this price point. You can actually tell the car to turn on the radiator fan or roll down windows to test if the motor is working.Verdict:Proper serious bit of kit for the home mechanic. It does way more than just read codes and has already paid for itself by saving me a trip to the mechanics.

Limited usefulness so far
Good bit of kit – sort of.Works well, communication with the car seems to be very good, I’ve used it on a 2004 CR-V which it was able to diagnose the issue and also a 2009 Slk.The issue is while I am able to see lots more than a cheapo scanner, I couldn’t actually reset the SRS issues on the merc and the crv issue was an o2 sensor – which any scanner can reset once fixed. I like it – I like the decent sized screen and the interface is rapid and simple to use – but so far it’s just an expensive replacement for running the Torque app on a phone really.

Great tool for any car tech
When compared to my rather simplistic OBD reader, this has been far more intuitive and easier to use. The amount of supported features included for resetting and calibration was impressive. The readouts and graphs were also far more detailed than what I’m used to thanks in part to the tablet-like screen. Likewise, fault code readouts were read, translated, and explained very well.The lifetime updates is a great addition, and when compared to other solutions on the market, the cost seems very reasonable. The only downside is that I wish they included a storage pouch/case. Nonetheless, recommended.

Good unit. Fired it up and scanned right away. Screen is nice and overall feel of the product is good. I did get extra 2year warranty on it just for peace of mind. Overall, I recommend.Used on 2014 Toyota and 2016 civic with no problems

Das mir zugesandte Gerät wurde von mir eingesteckt und ein Gesamtscan durchgeführt. Alle verbauten Steuergeräte wurden gefunden. Aber nach dem Scan fiel die Software in den Ausgangszustand zurück und alle Scans waren weg. Bei Einzelabfrage der Steuergeräte war es das gleiche. Ein Auslesen ist mit dem mir gelieferten Gerät nicht möglich gewesen. Bei Einzelabfragen der Steuergeräte kam Zeitweise ein Popup (Kontaktieren Sie den Hersteller) Die Sprache Deutsch war mehr oder weniger nur Ãberschrift. 90% war Englisch, Also alles so Denglisch.Normalerweise erwarte ich bei einem Neugerät das der Hersteller einen finalen Check durchführt und Geräte mit Bugs entfernt. Hier ist aber der Kunde der Kontrolleur. Wieder mal 2 Stunden meines Lebens für ein Gerät aus Fernost verplempert. Nach x Ausleseversuchen habe ich das Gerät eingepackt und nun geht es zurück.Im Nachhinein wurde mir ein vorzüglicher Kundenservice geboten und man will mir nun ein anderes getestetes Diagnosegerät zuschicken. (Deshalb habe ich die 1 Stern Bewertung auf 3 Sterne erweitert) Nun warte ich auf das Gerät mit Upgrade, werde es dann testen und meine Bewertung vervollständigen. (Jeder hat eine zweite Chance verdient) Wenn der Kundenservice das hält was er versprochen hat. (Hut ab)Der Kundenservice hat Wort gehalten und mir ein neues Gerät zugesandt. Ich bin begeistert, anfänglich waren nur die Ãberschriften auf Deutsch aber nachdem man eine Fahrzeugmarke ausgesucht hat und mit dem Internet verbunden war, lud sich das System von selbst die deutschen Dateien runter und schon war es auch in den Untermenüs in deutscher Sprache. Ob alles in Deutsch ist kann ich nicht sagen aber der Peugeot und BMW, die meinen Versuchen zum Opfer fielen, wurden in Deutsch angezeigt.Also, ich habe am Anfang geschimpft wie ein Rohrspatz aber nachdem der Kundenservice sich bei mir eingeschaltet hat ist alles so wie ich mir Kundenservice vorstelle und das Gerät ist Top. Klar das ich die vollen 5 Sterne gebe wären mehr zu vergeben hätte ich die auch noch angeklickt.
