Replace or DIY, nice switch for electrical lamps and the like
Need to add a switch on a light that only has a mains plug? This is perfect, cut the cable and attach both ends in between this switch and job done!Good quality plastic, much like Ikea quality so it will probably go with most decor.

Itâs a very cheap inline switch and it works!
Not heavy duty at this price but easy to connect and it looks and works fine.

functional, but low quality.
This switch is cheap & cheerful. Itâs very fiddly to wire up as you have to wrap the wires around the screws and the clamp plates are so thin, itâs easy to strip their threads. I ended up soldering the wires onto the terminals.The switch itself doesnât feel comfortable or quality. But I guess you get what you pay for. Iâll probably replace it soon with a better quality one.

Appalling internals.
I have a table lamp on which the orginal bullet inline switch failed. I went to Amazon and bought a new one rated at 6amp. This duly arrived but found the robustness a bit over the top and its action very heavy AND so we come to this one which I ordered, as I thought that it would be more suitable and have a lighter action.It arrived this morning and I tried the switching action a few times but found it a bit uneven between ‘on’ and ‘off’ but after few more cycles, it jammed completely! I removed the two screws and took the back off and was amazed how crude the mechanism was with the rocker switch just about being held in by flimsy prongs and soft plastic supports. The jamming was due to a spring loaded tensioner having been distorted and not supported sufficiently.I put a bit of Silicone grease on appropriate parts and the action improved considerably but I am now worried about the flimsiness of this switch and whether, indeed there is room inside for a redundanct earth wire. There are no screwable cord grips either, this feature relying on tightening down the back casing.All in all a shoddy product – Don’t buy it. Even at just over a quid, it’s not worth it

It is an inline switch
Amazon wants me to leave a review over a cheap and inexpensive simply inline light switch.Well it’s an inline light switch that was purchased so I could move my desk lamp.I was easy to wire up (it’s easier than a plug).It performs the task (switch electricity on and off) easily.What more do you want me to say?If you need an inline switch, well this one maybe suitable for your needs.
