A Useful and Helpful Gizmo
A useful bit of kit, with quite acceptable build quality, considering the price. It should give good service for quite some time into the future, although I doubt I’ll be using it again, once I’ve sorted out my two new indoor socket to socket ethernet extensions.After taking half a minute to get going, it showed me where the problems were. I had THREE open circuits (no end to end connection), but was pleased to see I didn’t have any short circuits, or had connected any wires to the wrong terminals.Very useful when trying to find out where the problems are.

Did not work – broken inside
Tried it on several known-good cables which all tested as fails, with the same lights not showing. I opened it up and 3 of the 8 solder joints from cable to circuit board were loose! Terrible /no quality control if such an obvious issue made it to a customer.

It’s alright for the money.
Fairly basic rebadged item but for a cheap and cheerful tester it worked precisely as expected. I’ve taken the battery out now and put the tester with the other testing equipment I seldom use. Very ease to use but don’t slide the on/off switch too far to turn it on unless you want the slow option. A better on off switch is something to consider if you intend to use this sort of device more than once per house you own. There are videos available on YouTube that show you how to use it. Use it to test RJ11 and RJ45 cables of all categories.

Good, useful tester.
Does exactly what it is meant to do. I made up a couple of short cables as a practice and had faults in them both! When I came to the real thing I was fairly confident and the tester proved that the cables were good. Great tool at a modest cost.

Cheap and cheerful but did the job!
I was running a long cat6a cable and was struggling to successfully crimp the RJ45 connectors to it. Turned out the cable I had did not fit the connectors properly. This gadget helped to show where they were failing.Instructions are a bit vague and, a word of warning, the battery connector on my one is incredibly tight. So tight in fact that when trying to disconnect it I actually pulled the connector off the top of the battery!!

simple and brilliant device
so simple and works.csnt remeber if instructions came with it but if they did you dont need them.it tests each individual wire one by one. simply attached at both ends of the cable and see if all wires are working.simple and brilliant

Per chi come me non fa cavi di rete tutti i giorni, è uno strumento molto utile e ti da la certezza che hai collegato correttamente gli 8 cavi nel connettore RJ45.

L’aspetto non è dei migliori. Pur essendo nuovo (?) e imballato ha dei segni neri e sembra un po’ sporco. Però funziona e costa poco, per testare i cavi di casa va più che bene.
