Long term reliability?
Used this to replace a failing cheap rocker style switch on my garden gate. First impressions was that the enclosure is not water proof, although the switch itself looks it. So used a thin bead of silicone on the cover. Nice positive switch operation, probably good for years.

I review things for Amazon so did not purchase this item myself.The item is robustly made, it has a nice material finish, and the external box which goes around the steal patress box is a highlight, being brushed alloy. A quality item.You get all the bits you’d need to mount it with screws. Either surface mount using that beautiful box cover, or on a concrete or cinderblock wall. If going into plasterboard, I’d go to pick up an easier-to-mount single plasterboard box from your local builder’s merchant and keep this surround for another job.I cannot fault the product and given it appears to be in every office building I go to, I give it 5 stars.FYI if you’re using a Normally Closed switch and you want to break a circuit then you’ll want the red and blue wires as shown.

Surround Gold not matching Silver!
These are expensive items but work very well. I especially like the surround that converts a flush mount box into a surface mount box. However the whole thing is let down by the fact that the surround is a gold finish rather than a matching silver one and therefore looks absolutely awful.Great product let down by a colour blind supplier!

This door release button is well made. The housing is brushed stainless steel and the big green button is very heavy duty. It was really easy to install with the instructions and it works perfectly. Itâs kept working in the highest traffic areas with a lot of usage daily.

Solid Quality
I used this on my garage door auto-door opener, replacing the cheap plastic momentary switch I had used. Not that it didn’t work, but this is nicer.The unit has two sets of momentary contacts, NO and NC ones. On my garage door I used the NO set wired into the open/close control circuit of the door operating mechanism. Works a treat.The actual unit is robust and well made designed for industrial/shop/office use and is made to the same standard size as the normal UK single gang back boxes. In fact the alloy surround is a case that fits over the standard steel backbox which is surface mounted rather than recessed. The front plate is stainless steel with a robust button fitted.Overall, a cool way to open/close your garage door or more likely operate a door security device in an office.
