Nothing could be simpler to install
As many people have said, this product is really easy to install. I am 85 years old and have always had trouble installing smart plugs, always asking for help, but not with these Avatar ones.Today I fitted 4 of these critters, and after a lot of apprehension before the first one, it was a breeze to set up.The instructions could be larger in size, but that was easily overcome by the printer. Each one worked first time, and the job was completed in a couple of hours.Alexa also worked first time, with absolutely no problems.I am now trying hard to think where I could put a couple more!

Good, value for money plugs that do the job when set up
A newbie to âsmart homeâ tech, I bought these plugs not really knowing what to expect and having nothing to compare them to.I struggled for ages trying to set these up, the instructions werenât very easy to follow. But I managed it in minutes as soon as I tried in the app mode.Great little plugs, they are small and quite sleek looking. The app is simple to use and connect to Alexa. Now I can control my plugs using either the app or Alexa voice commands via my Echo Dot.As well as letting you set a schedule for each plug switching on/off, the app has a handy timer feature, which is very handy when something needs charging but you donât want to leave it on all night. You can also use the app remotely to check whether your plug is on or off (very handy if youâre worrying youâve left an appliance switched on).I liked my first two plugs so much, I bought two more. Would recommend.

No hassle to connect
These were so easy to connect and I used the Smart life app! Then when I connected them to Alexa it asked if I had used the Avatar app so I lied and said yes and that worked too. Happy days.

Excellent comprehensive product.
Hi. I have 5 of these to date and they do pretty much what I want. Their main use for me is to monitor power rather than switch items on and off and as they don’t care which way the current flows, one of them is connected to a grid tie inverter to monitor power production from a 550 watt feed in system. I will be testing one soon on a modified sine wave inverter to see if it it can log that output as well. One unit is on my office equipment and the main PC is on 24/7 monitoring security cameras, the whole system was drawing 4 kWh a day, just under 200 watts constantly. After some testing I found the vast majority of this was from the PC which was about 6 years old, pretty powerful but woefully inefficient. I had another of equal performance but more up to date doing nothing, so I set this up and the whole system now draws 60 watts or so, around 1.6 kWh a day, which will save me around £130 a year.I use the Smart Life- Smart Living app which is excellent, very comprehensive, and that, coming from someone who has written software in the past, is praise indeed. These plugs allow you to turn the unit on or off from the main screen, provide a countdown timer, but beware, once it starts you can’t stop it. They also allow you to schedule multiple on and off functions and they provide power consumption logging. The power consumption, referred to as statistics, comprises total kWh for the day up to the time of viewing, the current being drawn, power being used and voltage at the time of viewing. Also shown is the total power used in kWh from the start date of the logging. There is also a graphical display of each months power use showing each days total consumption in kWh.Overall these units provide a comprehensive power switching and data logging service which is second to none.

Perfect for purpose
When using cable tidy boxes, space is premium, these plugs fit into the extension sockets perfectly and give added smart connection to whatever you put in them, easy to install and connect.

Smart life compatible excellent sockets
Cheap on a deal, £8 each. Smart life integrated, which is nice as I already have colourful bulbs also using the same app.Set one to the lamp, works beautifully.Installation is always a painful process for me. The flashing required is fairly quick, if you don’t see it go 2wice a second it’s going in the slower mode, which you can use as well to install the socket (or bulb), by clicking the top right of the screen running the app installation process.Basically the socket emits a WiFi signal which the app picks up, connects to, tells the socket your WiFi details, then disconnects. Once the socket connects to your WiFi, all is good. The memory for connecting lasts more than 3 weeks from my experience with the bulbs. I haven’t checked it yet on the sockets. This is with the bulbs plugged in but the main switch off. For the socket, I think removing it and storing it will help test that.Alexa integration is via smart life app inclusion in the Alexa skills settings.

Not as functional as those I bought previously
I thought I was buying the same plugs I had bought previously but these were substituted. They don’t show energy usage the way the other ones do so I can’t tell if the device is actually on by checking that it’s using power. This is very annoying. They do work in the app and were easy to add and the timer appears to work the same way but as they were the same price for less functionality I am constantly irritated with them:(It turns out that the ones I bought previously were out of stock so Amazon put these in my basket instead. I was in a hurry and didn’t notice until I was already using them:( I wouldn’t have chosen them if I had been paying more attention.
