Q: Can’t discover devices or connect
1. Check that the VeSync skill is bound successfully.
2. Confirm outlet and phone are connected to the same Wi-Fi network(Support 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only).
3. A router can usually only connect up to 16 devices, otherwise the devices will not be able to connect to it.
4. Reboot the router and retry.
5. Factory reset the smart plug. Simply press and hold for 5 seconds. When the blue light flashes rapidly, you can proceed with reconnecting your device to the network.
Q: Invalid voice commands
A: Check if the device name contains special characters in the Alexa App (it is recommended to change it to a simple English name)

Great smart switches!
These are great! Really good price and don’t take up much space. They were very easy to set up. I needed to be able to switch on and off certain sockets in my home when I wasn’t there, and I can now do this very easily using the app on my phone. There are also timers and countdowns and other features that are really useful. I’m impressed

Great functionality but not compatible with Alexa.
The plugs are incredibly easy to install and the app works flawlessly. It makes it easy for myself and family members to control the lights even while away from home.The plugs were purchased solely to replace a faulty smart plug that I use with Alexa. Unfortunately I could not get them to work with Alexa. The Alexa app even failed to recognise the devices.Recognising it utilised the 2.4Ghz of the WiFi I even reduced the entire WiFi network to this frequency and it did not resolve the issue.I would comfortably say that the plugs are not compatible with Alexa despite what the product description states.As a standalone item they work well but not with Alexa.

Great little smart plugs!
I bought these as I have several table lamps around my living room and was getting fed up switching them all on and off manually. I wanted a smart plug which was compact and wouldnt block the adjacent socket. These are very compact and attractive round plugs with a button on the sideFirst you’ll need to download and install the VeSync app from the appropriate store. The app was troublesome – it just would not connect to my wifi, regardless of settings. Eventually it just decided to connect out of the blue. That was the only difficult part of the process so if you have trouble just keep at it. If your router shares the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands (autoselect) then it may be worth switching this off so that the 2 bands are separate. rename the 2.4GHz band to your normal SSID name and then keep trying. Once it has connected you can re-enable the auto switching and make sure your SSID is the sameOnce connected, you can set up the plug quite simply by following the instructions in the app. If you have the Alexa app installed it will then pop up to ask for permission to Sync. this is brilliant as it means then Alexa takes over and you can name and control it as you wish. You can then add each plug to a group/room so that you can control them all together. For example I have called one of mine ‘Sofa Lamp’ and another ‘Corner Lamp’ and added them both to the group ‘Lights’. This means I can say ‘Alexa – switch on corner lamp’ and it will switch just that lamp on, or I can say ‘Alexa – turn on lights’ and it will switch them all on. Or I can say ‘Alexa, switch lights on at 4pm today’ and it will do that – or you can set a schedule up in the Alexa app. Very usefulThe button on the side is to use to switch on/off the smart connection. I’ve not used this at all – as soon as I plug the socket in it flashed blue to say it was ready to pair with the appI have no idea how reliable or long lasting they are, but for the last 3 days I have had great pleasure from randomly switching lights on and off with voice commands ๐

Works with Alexa – eventually!
Having happily used an ‘Amazon Smart Plug, works with Alexa’ for some years, I needed a further device. Searching for this I found it was not available, and had to search for another device that would work with Alexa. This product was shown as an ‘Amazon choice’ and was on special offer.It duly arrived and first impressions were favourable. The device is compact and fully featured, capable of many programmed activities, more than I actually needed or wanted. However, I found that in order to use it with Alexa, I had first to download the manufacturer’s App, and go through the rigmarole of opening an account with them (a right pain as, having used my password manager to generate a secure password, the App would not interface with the password manager). Having done all that, I then had to set up the device in the App, before finally going through the Alexa set up procedure to pair the device.Having said all that, the device works satisfactorily and offers many features for enhanced activity for those who need/want it. All I wanted was an Alexa-activated on/off switch. But for the setting-up hassle, I would have given it 5*.
