Two Into One WILL Go!
This tiny device is an excellent, versatile piece of equipment. Basically, it’s a Bluetooth transmitter or receiver depending on which way you slide the switch. Nothing remarkable in that, you may think, especially as many devices have Bluetooth built in. However, this one allows two connections at once, so, for instance, if you live in a flat with paper thin walls separating you from adjoining properties, two of you can listen to the TV or music as loudly as your ears can bear it through Bluetooth headphones and still live in peace with your neighbours.In my case I have several MP3 players that I rarely use because they don’t have Bluetooth but they do contain a lot of music. They now have a new lease of life, because I can transmit them to my Sony earbuds or to a speaker.The device comes with a range of connectors, including one for use in an aircraft (not much use to me as I hate flying!) as well as connecting to hi-fi systems. It allows me to send music from a PC to my Bose sound system to get a really good hi-fi sound.The device itself measures only 5cm x 3cm and is a mere 1cm thick. It’s so light it can be taken on any journey without noticeably adding to your load. It will slip almost unnoticed into a bag or pocket.There is a comprehensive handbook, written in good English and with plenty of instructions and suggestions. I think it’s going to take me a while to discover all this gadget is capable of. Meanwhile, at its very reasonable price, I certainly recommend it.

This SOARUN Bluetooth 5.4 Transmitter/Receiver looks great with symbols that light up to indicate the modes in operation.The box contains the unit, a pleasingly comprehensive instruction manual and several accessories, including; a dual 3.5mm male to single female 3.5mm adapter (for planes); 3.5mm coupler (to convert the units male 3.5mm jack to a female 3.5mm socket), a 3.5mm female to RCA cable; and a short USB-A to USB-C cable to charge the unit, (not long enough for my needs but I have loads so it’s not an issue).This device can transmit or receive Bluetooth signals, (not at the same time), so you can connect any device with a 3.5mm audio jack socket via Bluetooth.I use older MP3 players that don’t have built in Bluetooth so this is perfect for connecting them with my Sound Bar, Bluetooth Headphones or the Car audio system. I’ve replaced an older FM radio transmitter, which ate batteries and was subject to radio interference, so this Bluetooth transmitter has improved the sound quality.The rechargeable battery provides around 20 – 24 hours life, (depending on whether it’s receiving or transmitting), which is more than enough for my needs, and it can easily be recharged with a power bank if you’re not near a mains outlet.Overall, the SOARUN Bluetooth 5.4 Transmitter/Receiver is a great device and whilst a bit expensive at full retail price, it’s a bargain with the current discount offer, (at the time of writing).

Well kitted device
I really like that in addition to the Bluetooth adaptor a selection of cables is provided (included an airplanes 2-pin) adaptor so really out the box you shovel be able to connect it to pretty much anything you want. The dongle itself is pretty well made and LEDS are used to indicate the status and mode the device is in. With an inbuilt battery it pretty useful for travel and with the airplane adaptor perfect for globe trotting with your preferred headphones. It’s pretty easy to use with a slider switch used to change between transmit and receive mode. The overall build quality is pretty good too. I testing with a portable DAB radio and I able to stream the audio via the dongle to a pair of wireless headphones. Overall, a competent device. A bit pricey (£26.89 at the time of review) but I suppose extra value comes from all the included cables.

Makes things wireless
Keeping cables out of the way while watching late-night films used to be a bit of a nuisance. This changed the way I use older devices without modern features. Setup was quick, nothing confusing, and pairing worked immediately. The sound syncs perfectly with my headphones without any odd delays, even during dialogue-heavy scenes. Tried it on a flight recently and was able to enjoy everything without fiddling with wires or relying on airline gear. Range works fine even when moving around the flat, and battery life hasnât caught me off guard once. Iâve left it running the whole day by accident and it still kept going. Connection stays stable without needing to keep checking or re-pairing things.

Great product – seamless connection
I have a 2009 BMW 320d with bluetooth capability but this is just for making phone calls. I have to use an aux with my iPhone to play music through the speakers. The issue is that I’ve been through several Aux cables now since owning the car last year. It’s becoming a common theme, until I got this.This is absolutely fantastic. I was able to plug it in under my armrest where the Aux input is, and keep it nice and tidy (no wires everywhere unlike the Aux cable I had). I was able to connect my iPhone straight away and music was playing within seconds.It’s extremely fast, no distortion or issues with playing music at all.I’ll be using this every day for the next month so if anything changes, I’ll be sure to update.The only thing is that it’s rechargeable and I wonder how long it will last on a full charge.

Finally I can use AirPods while travelling. Pairing via Bluetooth is possible on newer planes, but always very cumbersome and problematic.With the SOARUN adapter, it’s very smooth to use. Plug it in, connect it and you can use your own Bluetooth headset, e.g. one with ANC functionality. The headset will also connect automatically when the dongle is switched on again.
