Meta has agreed to purchase 6 gigawatts’ value of AMD’s synthetic intelligence chips, the businesses stated on Tuesday.
The social community big, which simply doubled down on its partnership with Nvidia, stated it was coming into a multi-year settlement with AMD to help its AI infrastructure buildout.
AMD’s inventory was up almost 12% premarket following the announcement.
“We’re excited to kind a long-term partnership with AMD to deploy environment friendly inference compute and ship private superintelligence,” Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated in a press release.
It is the most recent mega-chip deal struck by AMD, with the corporate agreeing to a multi-year deal to supply its AI chips to OpenAI in October.
