What can I do if there is no hdmi signal at all?
1. Please make sure that at least one USB data cable is connected to the computer as a power supply.
2. To achieve different resolutions, ensure the cable’s AWG and length can meet the requirements.
Could I use the switch for HDMI switching or USB switching separately?
Yes, you can use it alone as HDMI Switch or USB Switch. Please ensure that any input port of the USB-B female needs to be connected to the USB power supply during use.
Can the KVM Switch USB be connected to a hard drive?
No, it is not recommended to connect a hard drive, since the USB interface has overcurrent protection function, and the point is 1A. When the working current is higher than 1A, the wire might be short. making damage to hard disk.
Why does the screen turn black for a few seconds when switching?
It depends on the monitor. Generally, if the monitor is 4K@60Hz, the screen will be black for about 5-7s after switching, and when it is 1080P@60Hz, the screen will be black for about 3-5s after switching.

Perfect after suggestion from good old Chat GPT
CHAT GPT convinced me to buy this for a project at home with switching from a PC to Laptop on a system with multiple monitors. Works perfectly for switching the keyboard and mouse and the HDMI. Only thing to note, the unit doesn’t seem to switch any audio which is sent down the HDMI, so worth considering if this is a requirement. Pretty much plug and play, with the option of hiding the main unit, as it comes with a long remote cable to switch it with a little box. Impressed so far.

Easy Switching Between Computers
This UGREEN HDMI KVM switch is an excellent piece of kit and has made my desk setup much simpler. The mouse, keyboard and monitor all work perfectly through it, with no noticeable lag or drop in quality. The video output is crisp and bright at 4K, and the mouse and keyboard respond instantly, which makes switching between devices feel seamless.The only small issue I have noticed is with my headset. When I switch over to my work laptop, it sometimes rejects the headset for reasons I cannot figure out, so I need to unplug and reconnect it. On my personal laptop, it works without any problems, and once connected, the sound quality is very good.Overall, I am very happy with this switch. It is reliable, easy to set up, and comes with all the cables you need in the box. A great option if you want to share one monitor, keyboard, mouse and peripherals between two computers.

I bought this for a home office set-up and it works well. I’ve had the unit for about a month (Jan 2026).The box contains all the leads you need to connect two computers. The USB connectivity is good and the additional switch button, means you don’t have to rummage under the monitor.As the device runs off the connected computer’s USB power, there’s no need for additional power leads or sockets.The first device is a mini pc and the second is a USB C hub with display port, that feeds to the work laptop. The system coped just fine with both, and there’s no acting annoying drops or cutouts.Both the miniPC and laptop cope with being swapped between. I had a minor issue with the plugged in mouse not being detected, but that might be Windows playing up. A quick unplug and reconnect, and all is fine again.I’ve a USB connected speaker that fits under the monitor and that connects into the KVM. Again, no issues with sound quality at all.I’ve put four stars as the leads are a bit stiff and if you’re cramped for space, it’s a faff to get them to bend. That is a minor issue, though.Overall, would recommend.

Flawless performance!
After trying a more expensive, metal-bodied Suidek KVM that looked great on paper but failed to wake my AMD system, I replaced it with this cheap UGREEN KVM, and it works perfectly.Despite being a simple plastic unit with USB 2.0 ports, old-school printer-style Type B connectors, and no external power, it performs better than KVMs twice its price. The switching is instant, stable, and reliable. It maintains the EDID and HDMI handshake properly. Both my AMD and Intel PCs wake the monitor every time with zero issues – No black screens, no cable replugging, no frustration.If you want a no-nonsense KVM that works flawlessly with mixed systems (including AMD), skip the fancy metal boxes and get this. It’s rock-solid, dependable, and excellent value for money.

I wish I had order one of these before! I have a personal micro pc and a work laptop with a single monitor. Switching the HDMI cable and USB adapter for the mouse and keyboard was a real faff. I didn’t even know these things existed so I entered my issue into an AI chat and it suggested one of these!It didn’t take long to set ap at all and you literally have to press a button to switch between pc’s – it takes about 2 seconds. So good and weirdly satisfying!!!I’ve not noticed any drop in sound or picture quality either. The cables are plenty long enough too. Woo hoo!

Purchased this for work since my workplace turned off remote desktop function to our work laptops from home and did not provide a home solution other than take your office monitor, keyboard etc. Which with my desk would be too much equipment so I needed a small cheap KVM. This KVM fit the bill on price and allows me to use my existing home equipment with the laptop and swap back to my home computer easily. Its very small about the size of a deck of cards so it fits next to my monitor easily and can swap quickly between the computers with a quick button press. It also includes a extension button if you wanted to hide the KVM somewhere and just use that. The only thing I do wish it supported was 3.5mm audio for a set of speakers to swap between home and work computers. As it stands I do not really need the speakers for the work laptop since my job role is not video or voice calls but it would be helpful to have the option just in case. If I needed the speakers on the laptop I would have to just manually move the 3.5 audio cable over. Overall would buy again if needed for work. Reliable and recommended.
